I'm on prizac&suffer with pmt. I need a contraception that will not risk messing with my state of mind and hormones.

Copper coil?

Don't they release some sort of hormone?

Copper coil is hormone free, it's the mirena which has hormones which is different.

Copper coil can make your periods heavier, don't know if it has any effect on PMT.

Condoms no good?

Sick of condoms now. It kills the moment&the sensation. :)

Definitely no hormones in the copper coil. You can leave it in for 10 years and don't have to think about it.

It can make your periods heavier and/or longer but this isn't the case for everybody.

Have you considered going and talking to your local family planning clinic about your options?

Mirina coil - it contains progesterone but nothing else and got rid of my PMS and periods completely. I love it.

Copper coil is hormone free.

I have the copper coil and have had no problem (like you, I do NOT need hormones messing with my mind, and I have been fine for years now.....)

Go for it.

(do NOT go for the mirena, works for some, makes others EXTREMELY depressed....)
