Was he given the all clear afterwards?

My DH had his redone as it didn't work the first time.

MrsJamin · 24/08/2010 19:32

goodness don't tell me that, DH having one in a month or two and another pregnancy would be an actual nightmare.

LittleCheesyPineappleOne · 24/08/2010 19:36

The failure rate is 1:2000 - nothing is perfect, even abstinence.

Are you ok?

littlewish · 24/08/2010 19:36

Yes he had all the tests. All clear. Massive shock four years later!

Unfortunately I lost our special baby 7 weeks ago another massive shock as I was 20 weeks pregnant (sorry didnt mention it in earlier post as I dont want to upset you all). Maybe we'll try again dont know if it would happen again though.

But it's MUCH more reliable than female sterilisation (1 in 200 if I recall correctly? It's significantly worse for women, anyway - and the medical risks if you have an ectopic pregnancy issue is also important to note).

Nothing is fail safe for contraception, you've just been incredibly, incredibly unlucky, I'm afraid.
