Heel Taps for Dummies

Can anyone talk me through fitting heel taps to DD's new tap shoes?

Her old ones came with them ready fitted so this is virgin territory for me.

Buy some from a dance shop/ website. You can get cheaper horseshoe shaped ones or the full heel taps which are more expensive but have a nicer sound.

I get mine put on at the cobblers. How old is the dancer, btw, heel taps not really needed til grade 2, ime?

She's only 6, so I thought I might get away with not putting them on, but I asked her dance teacher and she said yes, she needs them. However, she did then recommend a cobbler who will put them on for me, so I think I'll go for that.
