Starting tap dd age 8 Advanced Grade 1 / or Grade 2 with some 1:1

DD had her first ever tap class today because of a mix up she ended up joining the grade 2 class.

She loved the whole thing but did stuggle to keep up with the group, which her teacher the confimed.

She's going to try the lower class next week (advanced G1) but teacher was worried she might not like it because they will all be younger then her. She teacher said she was happy to do a few short 1:1 lessons before the G2 class to get her to their level so she's more with her age group.

It all sound quite a lot for a beginner or is it because she is a little older that she will be able to cope with the hard lessons straight off.

Through I did tap when I was little I have very little memory of it and really don't know how it works. Any advice please.

I know that when DD2 did ballet if an older beginner started the teacher would put them in a class appropriate to their age. They all caught up fairly quickly.
