What do you do with your spare DCs while one of them is doing an after-school club?

... That's assuming you don't live so near by that you are able to pop home with them?

DD1 has just started Y1 and will be doing 2 clubs a week after school, for the first time. DD2 finishes school at 3.05; DD1 will be finished at 4/4.15. We're about 15-20 mins drive from school so will have to hang around in the area.

I guess in the summer we might pop to the park. Reading her school book in a nearby cafe might work. Don't think there's a library nearby but will look into it.

What do you do?

Tbh when ds has his after school club i use the in between time to take dd to her dance class.
Otherwise would try to utilise it to go to supermarket / bank / pay bills etc
Or go for nice grown up coffee or similair..
Is there swimming baths nearby ?

I should've added that the DDs are at different schools, about 10 mins drive apart - so I don't think there would be time for a swim, or a class or anything unless it was right on the doorstep. Will look into it tho. No pool nearby that I can think of. What you say makes sense - I guess I'll work something out

Bag of toys reserved exclusively for classes time. This usually includes the Nintendo DS, which the girls tend not to play in the house, but whilst waiting for the other sibling to do their class. Otherwise, we pop to the shops, park etc...

we used to walk home, though not as far obviously, and then drive back, the time it took fitted perfectly without the need to go in the house and turn on tv for FIVE minutes

Sounds good Karam and Slarty. We're nearly 2.5 miles away and DD2 is only just 4 so don't think we'd manage the walk - it wouldn't be a particularly pleasant one anyway!
