Ukulele book recommendations pls

My 13 year old Ds has recently been introduced to the ukulele in his school music lesson. We have a uke that’s been in the back of a cupboard for a while and he’s dusted it off and been enthusiastically strumming. I’m keen to encourage him and wondered if anyone can recommend a ‘teach yourself ukulele’ type book to put in his stocking?

Avoid the Hal Leonard Ukulele Method by Lil'Rev. It's more "confuse yourself" than "teach yourself".

Can he read music, and if not does he want to learn? is he interested in fingerstyle or just strumming. Pop, folk, classical?

@AudiobookListener thanks for the tip, I will avoid that one.

He can read music a little as he had a couple of years of piano lessons but then gave up.

At the moment he’s taught himself the Lava song via YouTube tutorials. Is Disney a genre?!? I think he’s getting enjoyment from playing something recognisable so simplicity is key.

Thank you for replying.

There are at least four Disney Ukulele books on amazon. They don't look easy! And the books that DO look easy are all nursery rhymes and very basic American folk tunes. :(
