School sent a letter home saying they are starting a ptfa.

They have a meeting in a couple of weeks which I can't attend but the letter says tick this box of you cant attend the meeting but are still. Interested in being part of the ptfa.

My question is what does a ptfa do in real life ( I don't mind being part of things but don't have much time spare).

Generally speaking, they are a tiny group of heroes who raise funds to benefit all the dc.
How they do this varies hugely.
There are usually two ways to volunteer - either being part of the organising committee(how often they meet / how organised the Chair is / how friendly and how much of a laugh the meetings are / how efficient they are will vary hugely, one group to the next).
or
Say you don't want to be on the committee, but are happy to be on a list of people that will step up to man a stall at the Christmas Fayre or sell sweets at the disco, or you can contact local businesses for prizes for raffles or whatever it is you feel you can give.
