Hedgehog (Squirrel) Scouts Joining In Awards

TLDR: Do the Hedgehog pilot years count towards joining in awards?

My DS was part of the original Hedgehog Scout pilot, and started in January 2020. This was at a different group to where he ended up for Beavers as there was only one in our area at the time. Because of Covid etc he stayed at Hedgehogs/Squirrels for a bit longer, and because our local Beaver group (where his brother attended) hadn't quite started back after Covid he did a couple of months at the (Squirrel) Beaver group as an invested Squirrel before joining our local Beaver group and eventually being invested as a Beaver.

His joining in award dates from when he was invested as a Beaver and not from when he started as a Hedgehog. To complicate matters he's now at a third group for Cubs. I hadn't thought about asking about transferring anything over when he started Beavers. I'm just curious if any Scout leaders know if the Hedgehog Pilot years count and if they could still be added on?

I can't see any reason why they shouldn't but I don't know any groups that bother with the 'joining in' stars anymore, so it isn't something I have come across.

Thank you! All the groups I know about locally still do the Joining In Awards, including his brother's explorer group.
