NYT summer intake courses

Hi anyone else trying to work out what to do about residentials? In past years NYT organised accom but this year my ds has a place in a city not near home. Hotels say you need to be 18 to rent a room so a parent has to go with? And work remotely? It’s asking a lot of parents. Ds wants to do it but it’s not exactly easy is it?!

My DS is doing the digital intake as we couldn’t make the weeks work. Not sure if that’s an option to swap. I know it will be a different experience but hopefully it’ll still be positive.
