Notapushymum.com forum down?

Hello,

I’m wondering if there is anyone here that also uses the notapushymum.com forum for parents of performing arts children? I haven’t been able to post since end of November and there also hasn’t been any new posts since then either. Does anyone know if/when the site will be working or what’s happened to it?

I have always wondered how it funded itself and imagine this maybe part of the problem.

Comefromaway · 19/12/2021 09:41

I just thought it was quiet at the moment, a lull whilst people wait for auditions. But I just tried to post and it won’t let me type.

hilltop78 · 19/12/2021 10:00

Yep, I’m sure it’s a lot of work, both time wise and financially but it’s a shame there wasn’t a last communication as I’m sure a lot of users would help out. It’s such a great resource, especially around audition time.

I tried to post shortly after the last post on the Training thread and haven’t been able to since then. Because I don’t know anyone ‘in real life’ that uses it, I wasn’t sure if it was just me that had an issue! But as the weeks have gone on, I’ve started to wonder if the site was down.

Maybe contact balletcoforum.com and ask them whether they might be able to open a general performing arts sub-forum in their 'Doing Dance' section?

It is a busy forum and you do get people on there talking about other dance styles and MT schools fairly regularly.

Comefromaway · 20/12/2021 13:55

I don't think I'd like to de-camp to balletco. They have too many rules and restrictions as to what you can and cannot say.

thatsallineed · 22/12/2021 16:27

@Comefromaway In what way?

I thought the only issue with balletco was with a vocational ballet school having disliked comments on there, and took out a court injunction against balletco to prevent the school from being talked about at all. So any comments are swifty deleted out of necessity.

Comefromaway · 22/12/2021 18:08

You are not allowed to make any negative comments about any school at all unless you use your real life name.

I have good things and bad things to say about my daughter’s previous school. It paints a very one sided picture.

Any discussion on Rosie Kay has been locked.

It’s incredibly censored.

Notapushymom is back up.

Somebody posted on balletco forum, and somebody got in touch with Notapushymom. It seems their server had crashed.

Small world this dance world 😊

I found NAPM helpful with my dd up until she reached her teens and out of kids theatre. They also started censoring loads of posts - especially from a certain kids training provider /casting director as they helpfully "joined" the forum when various threads were calling out their lack of integrity, professionalism and appalling practice. Lots of threads were censored due to this companies threat of legal proceedings. I find Facebook groups better informed and more personal and can recommend a great one for teens where it's parents only- no agents /casting directors/training providers allowed.

Hi Nancypineapple, I would be interested to know more about Facebook groups

@nancypineapple (or anyone else) I'd be interested in the FB groups. I have accidentally become a mother to a DC who has their eye set on performing for all the world to see, and I'm struggling to navigate how best to help them. (Becoming a mother wasn't the accidental bit)

Oooh, I don't remember that (and I've been on NAPM a long time) as far back as when the mum who was convicted for fraud posted.

Only last week I had a post deleted on Balletco when someone asked for views of a certain college. My post was factual and could be backed up by OFSTED & Trinity reports.

I sent NAPM a message via Facebook
FANTINE2 · 22/02/2022 14:32

I commented on NAPM concerning things that had gone on at a very well known training school. I didn’t say anything controversial, but I really thought that I had been thrown out! I couldn’t see any other posts etc.
