I've just received an email that applications to audition for NCO 2022 are open from today- September, with up to mid-October to submit audition videos.

Has anyone else got a child who wants to audition? I've got DD (9) who wants to audition on tuba. Be nice to chat to anyone else going through the process!

Not this time as he’s too old but he did Jain orchestra a few years ago. It was an amazing experience. Plenty on here will be applying. Good luck.

I’d appreciate advice from those who have made audition videos for NCO. I’m slightly confused! Do you video with the whole child and instrument in the picture? Latest email suggests this is what they want. However in the how to video there is a waist up shot of the chap with his bassoon. I had planned to video my flautist head on with arms above the music stand. Thanks

Hello - has anyone had their NCO 2022 audition results back? The e-newsletter suggested they had started feeding back, but we haven't received anything.

@dinosaurinmybelly National results have come out but not projects. The projects results should be out at the end of November.

Reserve list for cello for NCO Projects. Any chance he might actually be offered a place? I’m not holding out much hope.

Surprised that a very speculative application resulted in a yes for DC2. Panicking now that she'll need to practise a bit more to keep up! Fingers crossed for everyone else.

cross-posted with @mbell. Cello is such a popular instrument - the competition must be especially fierce. My DC plays what I think is a shortage instrument, which is the only reason we had a punt.

Yes, projects offer on bassoon (first choice) for DD, Not sure whether she'll want to take it as it clashes with CYM.

Was a very speculative application (she's been playing for less than two years and mostly in lockdown) - her teacher will be happy though.

Yes! Violin DD also into projects.
Congratulations and fingers crossed for those on reserves. I expect there will be some movement as people work out their logistics, and other ensembles.
