Ballet / Gymnastics Leotards

I promise I'm not a troll but have recently name changed!

My dd had a ballet exam recently & I've been looking at the photos I took & you can see too much of her privates! Probably as they're not allowed to wear pants Sad

I was hoping to frame a photo of her to put up at home so have had to choose a head & shoulders shot which is a bit of a shame.

How can we avoid this next time?

You need dance pants. They are thin and high-legged and have never been noticed under leotards (even by her previous, very anti-pant, ballet teacher). This sort of thing.

Thank you! I'll order some for next time.

I might try taking a photo at home (with pants on) for framing.

I'm hoping when she's allowed tights that will help too.

yes the dance pants are good - can get them on amazon or ebay quite cheaply including postage.

Absolutely wear pants. My Dd has danced since the age of 7 and is now training professionally including 5 years at vocational lower school. She has ALWAYS wore knickers for exams & performances. Even Royal Ballet have white knickers as part of their Associates uniform.

come You know, I think it may be a sign of a good teacher / school when they require pants. Dd’s previous teacher banned them (I bought her dance pants and the teacher either never noticed or never complained - I assume the former). Her current (fantastic, hugely experienced) teacher actually requires under-leotards for shows (no random wings changes hiding behind behind a held up towel) and has never asked for no pants. Though I imagine she’d say something if they were too big or brightly coloured! But that’s a different.
