LAMDA results

Hi

DD is currently waiting for LAMDA results (grade 1). This is the first exam she's taken. I know it can take 6 weeks for the results to come through - and could be longer given lots of people are taking exams as the syllabus is changing in the summer.

She's desperate to get them and hanging on the postman coming every day!

Today we got a card through the door from the post man saying we have a delivery that they couldn't deliver as needs a signature.

Could this be the results? Do they come as a signed for delivery?!

I only ask as it's PIA to collect from the sorting office (we live rurally) - but if it's likely to be that I'll make a trip tomorrow morning!

We are also waiting for results. From 27/4 so this is now 6 weeks to the day. DD also asking every. Single. Day..:.

@folkmamma

Oh no, DD did hers on the 5th May so guess we are still in for a longer wait yet.

I picked up the package and it wasn't the results.

I hope they're not too delayed as like you it's being talked about every day!

Good luck to your DC!

My DD gets on 18/3 the results came to school ( she was a school entry) on the 30/4. 6 weeks and 1 day.

Comefromaway · 10/06/2019 21:10

The results are usually sent to the teacher who enters the candidates.

LAMDA have been awful lately taking ages for results to come through.

WhiteWineAndMagnums · 10/06/2019 22:26

@Comefromaway - she attended a public exam centre rather than be entered by a teacher so we sent the entry form in and the exam pack was sent to us directly.

DD is fully expecting her results by Saturday. Think she's going to be disappointed!

I always used public centres but entered all my students directly. That way I could make sure everything is correct.

The results and certificate usually come in a Manila A4 hard backed envelope.

Still no news here...

WhiteWineAndMagnums · 11/06/2019 21:42

@folkmamma oh no!!

Expectations are high here so think I'm going to have disappointment on my hands when it's late...

@folkmamma - whoop whoop!

How did she get on?

She did good thanks! First LAMDA exam and a merit g3. Very happy! She is very used to music exams, but this was completely different. Looking forward to getting the feedback and certificate.

WhiteWineAndMagnums · 13/06/2019 17:13

@folkmamma - that's brilliant, well done to her!

It was my DD's first exam too.

Does the feedback not come at the same time then?

Got the LAMDA breakdown - distinction marks for interpretation/characterisation, passes on the technical. Overall, smack bang in the middle of a merit. Happy with that and entirely fair (unsurprising technical was lower due to minimal preparation other than actually learning her lines 🤣)

Waiting on a gold and silver medal results here. Exam was mid May, so we have a little longer to wait. Can’t believe DD1 kept going until Gold Medal!! Just Gold Medal for DD2 to go and then we are finished with LAMDA after many many years!’

Comefromaway · 17/06/2019 09:16

I thought that too mom (dd did her gold medal last year) but she's decided to do a Shakespeare certificate!

WhiteWineAndMagnums · 19/06/2019 17:28

Results arrived today. 6 weeks and 3 days after the exam (did include two bank holiday mondays).

She got a distinction so is super chuffed!
