And before i just replace mine i thought id be nosey and see what everyone else is currently using.

My last block was Larica Gold 2 which i really quite liked (until i had a small accident with it and a concrete floor!) although in terms of price it was expensive.

Cheap double bass rosin works for violin, viola, cello and bass in this household. Hardly any is needed for the violin bow...

AB rosin for me, but I know someone who uses rosin with gold in it. No, I don't know how it works either.

I was using Pirastro Gold Flex (which I dropped and shattered, but resurrected by dropping as many shards as I could in a silicone mini-cupcake case and warming very gently until it melted together!). Then I added Melos Dark, which gripped the lower strings more. Now I'm mainly using Andrea "A Piacere", which is helping me keep the same strings for longer.

My DD uses Kaplan Soloist (which I got for her in the hope the hard case it comes in would withstand some drops - and it seems to be working)

As a cellist, a new block of rosin - even most premium rosins - is the cheapest thing I can change about the sound I produce. A new set of the strings I'm using sets me back >£170, so the I figure the price between the £3 beginner rosin (that makes playing miserable) and the £30 premium rosin (that makes playing a joy and my strings last longer) is a good investment!

Goldflex here too (violin). It's obviously a popular one!
