Hi
I want to take my 11 mo swimming for the first time but I'm a bit apprehensive as Im not the best swimmer - but don't want to put my fears on them.

Can someone advise on everything i'll need clothing wise - was reading online that its up to me if the baby wears a costume - i thought this was/should be compulsary?!

If someone could pass on a list of what I need - worried about the nappy situation too.

truth is i used to hate swimming as a kid so I think i don't really want to go but know we have to and its best for my LO.

considering co-lessons maybe if that exists - teaching me and the baby at the same time.

thanks

If you sign up for a baby swimming course, you will go in the water with them and be shown some things to do. And they're usually in lovely warm pools. Might be reassuring for you?

You need a disposable swim nappy

And normally something to go over it which could be:
happy nappy type reusable swim nappy (swim schools often require this)
normal swimming costume
all in one sun suit (we used these mostly as you can also use them for paddling pool or beach in the summer)
rash vest & shorts (or these ditto)

Depending on how cold the pool is and how fussy the baby is some people use a wrap or baby wetsuit to keep them warmer. I wouldn't invest in that unless you find on trying it that your baby is getting cold.
