My dd13 has to prepare a monologue from a published play - would a monologue from Confessions of a Shopaholic be acceptable as it was a film rather than a play

I’d say no, as it’s a film not a play. It’s been a while since I had to audition for that sort of thing but it would have been frowned upon then.

If the audition is for a stage production then it definately needs to be a play, not a film.

Plus make sure it is age appropriate for a 13 year old I.e. The script is for that of a teenager, not a young adult.
