DD2 has her G5 exam on Friday and has fallen on the slide of her trombone tonight and bent it.
DH will take it into town tomorrow to get it looked at but last time it took at least 10 days to get it fixed. Luckily we have insurance this time but can you hire a trombone for a few days.
She has been practicing on her pbone but you can't do a exam with one of those, can you?

Oh how stressful. Do you have a local music service you could talk to about lending her one? X

If its Trinity she would be OK to use the pbone for Grade 5 if you can't get one on loan.

You can do early grades on pbone-DS us doing G2 this week on his. Don't know about G5 though. Could she borrow one? Her instructor might have a spare?

Ask your music service? There are a lot returned at this time of year.

I've found someone who might be able to repair but they have a loaner if they can't.
This has been such a stressful exam run up- I'm wondering if someone is trying to tell us something!

She's doing ABRSM, her teacher almost had a coronary at the thought of her doing the exam on her pbone!

OP - are you sorted? Otherwise just rent one - most places get the instrument to you very quickly. Or just ask the repairer to repair it quickly and explain why.
Good luck with the exam!

Update: we got this sorted the same day. She'd somehow bent the slide She sat the exam today and it didn't go well but it's over at least.
Trombone players/teachers, can I ask? In your opinion is this trombone suitable for G5 level?
