My daughter goes to a dance class for 2 hours on a Saturday, they are getting the chance to sit BATD exams, can anyone let me know the order in which they would sit them, some girls are doing first steps and some starlite. What's the difference? DD is only 7 so classes are for fun.

It's not a syllabus I am familiar with & unlike most of the other dance exam bodies they are very secretive with regards to what information they publish about their exams.

Not familiar with it either - usually examining bodies' dance exams start with pre-primary / primary, then grade 1, grade 2 and so on; or they have medal tests - bronze/silver/gold etc. What sort of dance does she do?

Perhaps you could ask your dd's teacher to explain.

My daughter does BATD exams. They start at age 7 when they do the Pre-Primary exam which is a big step from starlight and then first step exams for younger children.

My daughter danced 2 dances for ballet but only one for freestyle and tap. Hope your DD enjoys her exams. They are really low key in my DD's school which is exactly the way they should be. Let us know how you get on.
