I think a three year old is far too young for martial arts. I would be surprised if insurance allows a martial arts club to take children as young as three. In my town your child has to be five or either karate or judo.

I suggest either a swimming or a gymnastics class. It's nice to have an activity that allows a child to let off energy on a rainy day. Pre school gymnastics helps with coordination which will be useful for learning any martial art later.

I wouldn't go for martial arts for a 3yo. They're unlikely to have the control you need at that age.
Gym, dance are both things that my df used to say were useful for martial arts (he got pretty high in Shotokan karate) that people who'd done those at a young age it helped.
Mind you with the number of times I saw him spinning round on one leg with the other above his head you could understand why. Grin

Swimming or other sports are good for coordination and fitness levels.

Gymnastics. Search for a Little Gym branch in your area. It is excellent.
