Does anybody know how they're worked out now?
I know RAD is pass, merit and distinction but I'm not sure about iDTA. Is it still pass, commended, highly commended and honours? I can only find old information.

Think it's pass, merit, distinction iirc from Ds' s last exam.

Yes it's still pass, com, hc, honours. Dd took quite a few last term Smile

I found this. It seems to depend on whether you're doing a grade or a medal.

Medals
Honours (H) = 85-100%
Highly Commended (HC)= 80-84%
Commended (C) = 75-79%
Pass (P) = 65-74%

Ballet Grades
Distinction (D) = 85-100%
Merit (M) = 75-84%
Pass (P) =65-74%

May I also ask please

My child is doing grade 1 IDTA ballet. She's 6 and has been doing class for almost a year and a half. She's several months off being 7, which seems to be the required age for doing that grade, so will miss out when the class do their exams. Does anybody know if IDTA are flexible on age and will give permission for children to do exams earlier?

PandaNot · 12/09/2014 16:59

The teacher can ask but I don't know whether idta have tightened up the rules on this recently as RAD have. My dd is in the same position with her grade 1 RAD. She's not allowed to take hers until the spring session.

It's kind of odd, I think, that you can do the primary IDTA at 5 but then have to wait two years to take grade 1 at 7 years. I'll have to wait and see then (fingers crossed)

RAD does seem to have become more strict with the addition of sessions. Do they not give permission for early entry at all now? Because I know somebody whose DC will miss out on the Jan session deadline for reaching required age by a couple of weeks, so will have to wait until Sept to take the exam. I think they were going to ask, but it doesn't seem likely.

Rad seem to have stopped giving special permission completely now. Dd teacher seems to think it's to do with the new syllabus and the students needing more maturity to cope with it.
