DD loves to dance

DD (13) came in from school yesterday with a grey face, saying she was the "illest child ever". She disappeared upstairs - I assumed to bed - and came back down in her leotard!

I always know if she is really ill, as no school = no after school activities......normally dancing

Oops Easter & summer school, already!

Were in the throes of panto rehearsals with tap, modern, ballet and LAMDA exams in Feb. Also half way through dance GCSE and rehearsing for school shows.

How're you getting on. still travelling all over the country?

We were thinking of the YMT Easter school, but might take a holiday instead.

Yes, Woolwich for Millenium next week, Hammond the week after

Blackpool for a comp in Jan, the Cambridge for the YMT audition the week after

We don't do panto; maybe we should have but you knw DD 'caught' dance late

She did a English National Ballet Youth Company audition/workshop last week & loved the workshop but we knew she hadn't got in

Didn't know YMT did Easter school (off to look) but DD is hoping for Salsa Sisters in the summer (I now she can't choose)

It's lovely to have such passion. DD lives for ballet - that snowstorm that brought Glasgow to a standstill 2 years ago. Yup, we battled through the snow to get to class. Poorly & the colour of putty, nothing was stopping her from going to class. Her friends in class are exactly the same & I think that they are utterly wonderful for following their passion

"Following their passion" yes I guess - maybe I'm a party pooper but I always worry about what happens if they can't follow any more

I know another child who is a bit this way with Maths & if they don't get in to the uni they want I worry about them

I am stressing about choices of college and chances of major injury. People keep saying she might change her mind, but I really can't see it. My usually shy daughter comes alive when she performs.

We came back from a delayed flight at 5am and she was still ready to go to a competition at 9am (she looked better than me all day).

I got given a list of 6 colleges that 'are the only ones DD should audition for' by a (reasonably high up) teacher/examiner

So I'm all a bit atm

No panto this year thank goodness. Most of the auditions clashed with a Musicsl she was in (& has she was playing one if the leads that cane first) plus the one dd was in last year only children from the stars wife's stage school got to audition.

It does take over your Xmas and when you have other children to think about too.

Dh is now saying maybe she should audition for year 7 after all after we'd decided it wasn't right for her!!!!!

Do a relatively easy Xmas just her stagecoach showcase & Musicsl theatre exam, a silo in a charity show a couple if days before Xmas and a dance festival in the new year!

She never misses a class.

DD has missed so many because of these Open days - I wish the CAT had given her more help to decide what to do
