Guitar lessons stopped

DD1 was doing group guitar lessons at school which were provided by the County Council, but unfortunately (surprise surprise) they have stopped due to lack of funding. Its a real shame as she was really keen and getting on pretty well. I've looked into private lessons but can't really afford the going rate of £15 per half hour, every week (I know this is a reasonable sum to charge for individual tuition but for me its just too much of a jump from the £4 a lesson I was paying for the school lessons).

Just posting here as a long shot really - has anyone got any magic ways of accessing cheap music tuition!

Thanks

no magic ways but does she have a friend who was in the group lesson with her and would also like to continue? They could have a joint lesson which might make it affordable for you

In our LEA some groups that were once in individual schools have been moved and are now held at a more central Music centre.

Do Scamps run any classes near you?

Thanks for your replies. I have spoken to the County Council and they aren't aware of any local groups. Not sure how to go about finding them of they go exist?

The Scamps website looks interesting, I'll send them a mail.

Thanks again for your help ,
