Watching week at ballet - funny

Parents were allowed in to watch the ballet class today and when the teacher asked if anyone knew what mermaids looked like, my 3.9 DD was chosen to answer and she said "they have boobies!"

Cue lots of laughter from all the grown ups. But I was v. proud.

Do you have any funnies from watching week?

Our watch week isn't until next Saturday, I can't wait!

Mines the week after next. I'm looking forward to it but DD is a grown up 12 now, I have strict instructions on how to behave, really she would prefer me not to go!

DD2 watching DD1 and copying her moves from the side lines - totally stole the show and ballet teacher not amused but us parents were!

DD shouting "I'm bored" in a loud voice and sitting on the floor. Blush
We didn't go back.

I'm not allowed

DD's ballet friends think I am a 'total nightmare' Wink - I know this because last night I was sat in one room & they were talking in the hall......but DD is 'alright'

I have too many to tell as a ballet teacher myself!!!! But classic was when I said to the girls (3) to walk on their tipee toes as if they are wearing high heels. One child said my mummy wears high heels. Then another said "my mummy doesn't wear high heels but my daddy does"! Daddy was very embarrassed as he was watching, everyone laughed. I am still not sure if he does .....

When DD was 3 she had a VERY booby ballet teacher. When it was watching week her sister (even more well endowed) came to help. One little boy pointed at them both and shouted out ' You 2 are both very..' and then there was a long pause while he was struggling to find the word .the audience were all holding their breath anxiously waiting. His parents wanting the floor to open up.You could have heard a pin drop. 'SIMILAR' he shouted and everyone fell about laughing!!

LOL KatyMac - did they elaborate on what, exactly, makes you a "total nightmare"

DD (5)'s "last ballet of term" was quite a revelation, actually. Compared to last year they seem to be doing something which could almost be called ballet.

I must try and find a tactful way to stop DD's habit of sticking her tongue out when she concentrates, though Grin (tricky, since she gets it from me Blush)

Umm I talk to them and ask them things and pay attention to them

That makes me a bad mum doesn't it?

stealthsquiggle · 18/07/2012 20:36

Grin the worst, clearly.
