Question about exam results

I'm new to the whole music exam process (and this is my first ever MN post) so hoping someone can help.

DD will be taking her Grade 2 guitar exam on 24th March and i was wondering when she would get the results. Do they tell her on the day? Or is it a one or two week wait?

We're going on holiday the following Saturday for 12 days and i'm worried that DD will be anxious to know the results? Or will they be sent to her guitar teacher rather than DD? In which case i could ask her to email us.

There will be a wait and IME the results are sent to the teacher. My DCs piano teacher has a special website which she can check before the written results are posted. I think it's usually a couple of weeks before the results are published.

They are sent to the teacher/school and are available online within a week or two. Realistically it would probably be after Easter for your dd.

Depends on the exam board! AB tends to be a two week wait, Trinity can let you know on the day. Rockschool tends to be a wait as well.

As Titchy says, it depends on your exam board. Trinity will still tell your teacher, not your DD, so after that it will depend on your teacher.

Our piano teacher texts me as soon as she know the ABRSM results, the Trinity results have been given to DCs at their following school lessons, or as happened before half term, a set time at the end of exam week when the results would be issued.

DD took Grade 1 Violin TGH last week, we were told to email the coordinator that same evening for results. There were people there taking ABSRM too, I was under impression everyone was getting results that evening.

I'd reckon we've usually waited between 4-6 weeks for results. However dd's always done it in the summer when a lot of others do it.

DD's exam board is Trinity so I may have a word with the guitar teacher and see if she can email me the results if she gets them while we're away (though i don't know what internet access will be like in Cuba).

A Merit (81/100).

I was really pleased that we received the results on the same day and so is DD!
