Pointe shoes

My dd (13) needs pointe shoes (her first pair). Anyone any idea which are the best entry level brand and if cheaper ones will do for a beginner?

I live in Edinburgh and we are planning to go shopping for them this afternoon so quick responses would be much appreciated...

I'm afraid it's a case of trying on at a good dance shop and seeing which ones suit her particular foot-shape best. I wouldn't economise and sacrifice comfort, especially for a first pair. Some brands suit narrow feet, some are very good for pronounced arches etc and they need to fit as well and as comfortably as possible.

Thank you very much. Just phoned a shop who were very helpful and do a 10% discount for her dance school... Result. They said it may take up to an hour for the fitting and were very hepful telling me to cut her nails and file them right down etc.
