Make up for ballet shows

I'm new to this whole dance show thing and my 3 and 5 yr old are in a big show. We've been asked to put make up on them beforehand BUT I don't wear make up - don't own any. HELP! Can you recommend a cheap brand (apparently need foundation, red lipstick, mascara, browny eyeshadow and blusher) and have you any tips on putting it on a wiggly 3 yr old? (or general show tips )

Bran i'm sure it is a show that the OP is talking about.
They need makeup so that they will not look washed out.
OP i would suggest body shop or Rimmel,cheap and cheerful

Yes it is normal Bran, it's as they will be under bright lights and will be too pale to pick out features.
Cheap crap will do - There is a range at Boots called "Natural" I think - they are £2 an item or 3 for £5

we have it as 'optional' but most children parents choose to let their dc wear a bit. IMHO the foundation idea is a bit OTT, we just ask for a bit of eyeshadow and lippy, as the bright theatre lights make their little faces look washed out. Doesn't need to be anything pro. DD has been in a show last year and will be soon this year - she is 5. We have not been asked to put make-up on, and personally, I would refuse too. They are so young and it really is unnecessary - like gilding the lily....
As for the show, DD coped really well and loved it. You'll probably need their hair up in a bun and use a net to keep it all in, and lots of hairspray as it won't stay up otherwise. Make sure they have snacks and drinks too, and label EVERYTHING!

If the show is at a theatre with stage lighting then they will need a little make uo as the lights will wash out the facial features and make their skin really pale.

In my experience little ones don;t usually neeed foundations but a little blusher, rose coloured lipstick and eyeshadow (beiges for ballet blue for tap seems to be the norm) and a little mascara to define the features.

Dd is allergic to some brands so I used Boots natural collection and Grimas (a properstage make-uo brand)

Even the boys wear make-up becasue of the lights.

Thanks - had to post and run yesterday - it is in a proper theatre with proper stage lights so I'm okay with that wouldn't consider it otherwise and its a one off special occasion so not a regular thing Plus I'm not planning to pancake it on.
They said for us to do it because of elf n safety - child protection, allergies, hygiene etc etc etc

Will check out the boots range - thanks and hadn't thought about hair at all . Everytime I think I've got a handle on something it gets more complicated.

We did red lips. blusher and brown and white eyeshadow for our 5yr olds. It didn't look odd when they were on stage, just normal.
Our show was CHAOS backstage! Some of the little ones went home before the finale because it was too chaotic. Shame. DD loved the buzz, but others just didn't like it.
