I am looking for a piano that you do no longer need.

I don't have a piano going, sadly.

Just something that you may well have come across (in which case please ignore), but please get any piano checked by a reputable tuner/restorer before you take it home - because they're so heavy pianos are expensive to move and, depending on its condition, you may find then find that its actually pretty unplayable as is and prohibitively costly to repair.

Is it for you or your children (or both)? Hope you find one in good nick and get lots of pleasure from it :)

Thank you for the advise. It is for my daughter. We have been renting a Rouland, but it is too expensive to keep renting. Her teacher suggested to ask around, some children loose interest and there might be a piano taking valuable space in someone's home.

There are always pianos on ebay... go round and see it before you pay for it.. they cost a lot to transport.

LoopyLoups · 10/10/2010 14:02

I got one on Freecycle.

In fact, my mother has one she wants rid of in Worcestershire if you can collect?

Where are you - I think I know of one in Northampton

Akiko · 18/10/2010 09:29

I am in Battersea, London. I will have to check how much the transport will cost. What make are these pianos KatyMac and LoopyLoups?

I know of one in Eastbourne that needs a new home. Vertigrand (very good quality in its day, was owned by a professional musician) but probably needs 1-2k spent on refurbishment.
