ISTD tap exams

DD is about to do her ISTD Primary tap exam.

Can anybody tell me a bit about how it's normally done?

I'm assuming they go in 3 or 4 at a time rather than individually, is this right?

Do they find out on the day if they've passed, or if you have to wait, how long do you have to wait for?

And how do they have to be dressed / have hair done?

(I do realise that I could ask her tap teacher all this, and I will, but I'm curious to know now, and I won't see the teacher until next weekend)

Is it a class exam or individual ? dd's dance exams have always been in a group of 4. You have to wait for results, normally back by the start of the following term for us so max 6 weeks. Ours wear regulation leotard and black leggings, white socks and black tap shoes with hair up in a bun.

It's a class exam I believe, pretty sure they're going in 3s or 4s.

DD wears a pale pink leotard for tap, and silver tap shoes... clearly this isn't the standard ISTD uniform, is it?!

Think the pink leotard is possibly because the school does RAD ballet so they all have them for that. Not sure where the silver tap shoes come in.

Dd did ISDT primary exam just before summer. She wore hot pink catsuit and black tap shoes (not sure who decides what they wear).

There were 3 in class but one could not make it to exam so 2 went in together. Hair in ponytail, with pink ribbon in (seemed more relaxed than RAD ballet exam).

Went to ISDT studios near Old Street and they had enough time to practise in the waiting area.

We got results straight after coming back in September but not sure if had it not been for summer hols you could get them back sooner.

Same experience here. 4 go in. They wear their usual dance school uniform. Exam results come back within 6 weeks. I can never understand why it takes so long... but it does.
