I try and go to the gym 3 times a week

I do a class called body combat - basically an exercise class which is also self defense

and if I am being very good I try and go for a 3 mile walk every other week with my friend - we both push a buggy

I do
dance areobics twice a week
Body pump (aka 'The Crippler') once or twice a week
Sometimes if the suns out I'll go for a gossip walk with a friend.

Also do Power Ball class if I can be bothered to go to the gym at 8.30pm

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/10/2008 15:28

i used to do body pump - but after i did my back in,physio told me not to go anymore

i like the gossip walk - we do that

I power walk 3 -4 times a week, couple of miles at a time, plis walk on all the school runs.
I also do stretches/weights and tummy excercises at least every other day.
I only started doing this at the end of August, after I saw some bank holiday photos of me.
My body shape is definetly changing and I have lost nearly a stone. At least I had til I got to mums and she has been feeding me up.

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/10/2008 15:57

you have lost a stone?

well done

yup, in 2 months. I have been drinking lots of water, and being careful what I eat, also cut out alcohol. Although I have been drinking this week cos I am at my mums and need some treats!
I don't want to weigh myself when I get home though, been so bad this week and we have all had heavy colds so I have not been out this week to counter act all the food and drink!

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 31/10/2008 16:30

Well done msl. It's the booze that does it for me. If I cut it out then I lose weight.

I run and go to the gym. Usually 4 times a week, and I work hard when I'm there, not fannying about not breaking sweat and then complaining that it's doing no good

PestoFangsLookGoodOnMeMonster · 31/10/2008 16:34

Swimming mainly, bit of body pump, walking, roller blading, ice skating and dry-skiing when I can fit it in.

Oh, and horse-riding

In summer I like surfing & sailing.

hullygully · 31/10/2008 16:34

as applicable

robinpud · 31/10/2008 16:35

Pilates and a couple of session at the gym on the cross trainer each week.

brightwell · 31/10/2008 18:36

2-3 gym sessions a week and dance mat class with dc.

pamelat · 31/10/2008 19:28

normally in a week

body pump
swimming (50 ish lengths)
bums and tums class
spin

I walk about 5 miles a week with the buggy, but this will drop off now that its cold.

Still not losing the baby weight but I eat a lot of carbs!

Countingthegreyhairs · 01/11/2008 11:56

V. impressed by posts here

Well done mankyscotslass - I managed 7 kilos last year but have been back-sliding since and am trying to get back on track

I try and walk 10,000 steps a day and on top of that do power walking x 3 a week

  • agree that cutting out alcohol is essential

Am searching for pilates or yoga class that fits in with other commitments

I just wish there were more family exercise classes available where you could all go together, or at least I could go with my five-year old dd - but you all manage and I only have one child so I am quite obviously just making excuses!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/11/2008 12:42

PAMELAT

i eat a lot of carbs - i lost 4 stone a few years ago, and i had pasta every day for either lunch or tea

so you can lose weight eating pasta- its what you put with it

ie cheese sauce instead of low fat tomarto/garlic etc

Thanks! I agree, the cutting out alchohol definetely is a biggy. I have been so bad this week at mums, all sorts of rubbish, plus some red wine and the occasional beer! Not to mention the chocolate.
So I am starting again on Monday, but I am really reluctant to go near the scales, I know I will have put on at least a couple of pounds because I have not been out walking ot on the school run.
Oh well, target is 9st 3 or 4 before Christmas now.

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/11/2008 12:09

oh to be 9 stone

oh to be 10 stone

im gen 11 stone but too much naughty stuff on holiday=porky me

need to shift almost a stone

hi-impact aerobics three times a week, the bare minimum to keep my weight balanced!

moulesfrites · 02/11/2008 13:20

Blondes... I used to go to Body pump all the time and loved it...but then I too did my back in about 8 weeks ago and haven't ben back since, although my back is much better - pretty much back to normal. My osteopath says I should be able to go back but I haven't yet as I am still a bit nervous about my back - but I really miss it. Anyone got any advice on this?

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/11/2008 20:06

moulesfrites

how did you do your back in?

my physio told me not to do pump again as i will end up damaging myself again

i do miss it, was a good exercise and toned me up

i apparently have a slightly weak back, and when it does click out of place always goes in same place - slightly left of the bum crack

i plan to start lifting small weights in gym but not using on pump lift over shoulder bar

does anyone know how many steps a day you should be doing to loose weight? I have just found a pedometer (tidying up a drawer.......). I have a feeling that anything over 2000 steps is considered good? Is this right?

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/11/2008 21:08

thought it was 10 000
