Let's hope for another safe race. Maybe a woman can finish for the first time and hopefully there'll be a handful of Brits to cheer on. Although tbh, I'll cheer on anyone crazy enough to attempt it.

I have a funny backyard ultra story! (Well, I find it funny). Several years ago, I was training for a marathon, so got up very early, drove to a local nature reserve, parked up and set off on my long run. A few hours later, I came back to find the car park HEAVING, with lots of people who’d set up awnings and gazebos, and who were looking at me funny as I wandered in from the road, with my hydration pack and muddy trainers. Turned out the Backyard Ultra was being held there, I reckon they all thought I’d got lost on the course or something 😂 I had no idea, drove off home then googled it - Od have stayed to watch a bit if I’d known. If it ever happens again I’ll definitely be hanging around to try and spot some familiar faces!

Just heard Jasmin achievements reported on radio 4 BBC news...so some mainstream reporting

I hope that TV are waiting to interview her once she's recovered.

I found a brief account of what happened to Damo on the INNOV-8 blog. He missed a book whilst it was still dark, and by the time he found it he knew he could not finish. But ran on to get a few more, and did a bit of other exploring to get to know the ground better (which I take as a hint that he wants to keep trying!) before heading back - reaching camp in time to see Jasmin finish.

INNOV-8 no longer sponsors Jasmin - her choice as she prefers not to have a sponsor. I wonder if that's ethical reasons?

It's at the very end of the News from Saturday night. Very brief item, she doesn't speak as apparently she physically can't at the moment. She did send a brief message though, which was read out. This link should work but only until this evening, if the website is to be believed.

It said she had being breathing so hard for so long she couldn’t talk. I imagine she’s damaged her throat. 😬

24 hours is no time at all after such an endurance feat: too soon for media interviews!

I'm astonished thay shes doing any sort of media. I remember panicking after my first ultra that I wasn't able to even sit up to get out of bed - I just eventually rolled onto the floor! I was too tired and weak to call for help. Her effort would have been a zillion times mine. She needs time to rest quietly and heal

I don't think she is, apparently she regretted doing media stuff after the Spine as hadnt left enough time to recover. The piece last night was the footage of her sprinting to the yellow gate and the lovely Clive Myrie exclaiming 'blimey Jasmin'! Brilliant 😍
