Welcome all to the 2022 distance challenge thread!

Any form of self-powered movement which you can log distance for; any distance in whatever units you like for your own personal challenge!

Wet and windy 7.1km this morning
TTD 123.1km (running)

Slidey23 · 31/01/2022 13:47

Nearly got blown away walking today! It was a dangerous mission even just putting out the rubbish.

January:
101km walked
17km biked

Startagaintoday · 31/01/2022 20:15

January total. 175 miles.

ErrolTheDragon · 31/01/2022 22:41

Only 2.8km logged today because we went into the city and I kept forgetting to resume when we were walking. But I did manage to close all the rings on my watch, so I've made it through the whole month.Grin And it was a successful trip, for a new walking coat and shoes as the existing ones are showing distinct signs of wear so I'm well kitted out. And lunch in a Japanese restaurant, first sashimi and sushi for over two years, delicious.

234.4km walked
20km rowed

Wow! Well done!

TheLongRider · 31/01/2022 22:48

My January totals are 585km cycled (5,800m ascent), 68km of walking and one 5km run for the craic!

I've attached the most Irish photo I've taken this year of the Carawaystick waterfall in the middle of Wicklow.

My plans for February include throwing some turbo trainer sessions into the mix. I have plenty of endurance but I need more speed.

Well done to everyone else for keeping going in January. Onwards and upwards!

Happy (Chinese) New Year everyone!

So... anyone who didn't join in January, now's the perfect time. And for anyone who may have fallen by the wayside in January to get back onboard. Smile

7.3 km for me today.

241.7 km walked
20km rowed

3.5k walk on Friday night as I knew it would be a busy weekend. Weekend spent wrangling the dcs’ skating team, so no sport for me (reached 10000 steps by lunchtime each day from general fetching and carrying).

Well done to everyone who had a good start in January.
5.5k walk
38k ski
3k skate, so total 46.5km

Tarahumara · 02/02/2022 10:40

Total: 106.8km (run 42.8, bike 64)

IsThisNameTaken · 02/02/2022 11:08

Great photo @TheLongRider - I'm exhausted just thinking about cycling that far!
6.2km run to add for me this morning.
TTD 129.3km

Jumbojem · 02/02/2022 21:23

Lovely start to Feb, glorious weather here today and felt spring like (it was 10 degrees!).
Managed a slow 4 mile run after work and a 3 mile lunch time stroll on Monday to hit my Jan walking target (50k).

ErrolTheDragon · 02/02/2022 23:38

Just Pilates today, no distance logged.

Pleased with this week - I feel like I'm back into it after my hiatus due to illness. 12.5km on the stationery bike today.
Total 125.4km (48.9 run, 76.5 bike)

JuergenSchwarzwald · 05/02/2022 18:43

I did RED, although I don't run every day, I do recorded exercise which may be a swim, walk or cycle ride as well. I didn't quite make it as I had a migraine one day but I managed at least one recorded exercise for every other day in January.

I had also run 100 miles by the end of Feb 1st - didn't quite manage it by the end of 31st Jan.

I am also doing the Tour de Zwift which is eight bike rides, I've done 7 and have one more to do during the "make-up week" next week. I will then get a virtual kit (it's amazing what can motivate you!)

CardiCorgi · 05/02/2022 20:48

I think I would be motivated by virtual kit too. If dd and I get up early enough we want to do a challenge for real kit.

Another difficult week. Weights on Wednesday and then a 8.5 k bike ride through the park today to let off some steam before i started yelling at anyone.

5.5 k walk, 38k ski, 3k skate, 8.5k bike
TTD 55km

ErrolTheDragon · 05/02/2022 22:30

Pissing down here today so household chores and just 2.5km on the rower

257.4 km walked
22.5 rowed

29km hike across mountain valleys from my house. I was chased by hail and rain showers but there was glorious sunshine in between. The picture was taken 5 miles/8km from my front door.

2022: Run, walk, cycle, swim, etc 1000 km/miles or whatever!
ErrolTheDragon · 06/02/2022 19:39

5.5km today, it was very windy with outbursts of sleety/haily rain so we didn't feel like staying out longer, and I had stuff to do at home (I now have the frame of my new growhouse standing proudly in my living room.Grin)

262.9 km walked
22.5 rowed

Jumbojem · 06/02/2022 20:46

@TheLongRider that looks stunning, envious of such beautiful scenery on your doorstep. I live near the Somerset levels so big hills are a rarity. Are you in Ireland? I've never been but would love to, if someone could just guarantee a dry week or two Grin
It was a good walking week for me, managed 13.9 miles over a few lunch times and 5 miles yesterday.
Ok run week but only 2 runs, one 4 miles and one 8.5 today. Was supposed to be half marathon with a friend to make sure we can run the distance before our event in March but the wind and rain meant we cut it short and will try again next Sunday.
Year goals:
Walk 42.6/373 miles
Run 81.4/1000 miles

TheLongRider · 06/02/2022 21:13

Yes, I'm based in South Dublin. One traffic light is between me and the hills. I can do a 100km or 200km ride from my house with no traffic lights.
