Will exercise ever feel easy?

Hello,
Just need a bit of advice really,
I have two young DC's, my youngest is 3 months!
Nows the time I'd like to start shedding some weight - I know I'm not huge (I'm a size 12-14 and pre baby I was a 10-12) I have a bit of a wobbly belly going on which I'd like to lose - it used to be quite flat!
I'm eating healthily, and just started some home workouts..afterwards I literally feel like I'm going to pass out, my chest and throat burns and I ache all over, feel sick etc.
Will it eventually get easier or am I just stupidly unfit that it's going to take forever?

I walk everyday and push a pram but because I have my other DC with me (3 yo) I'm walking at a snails pace so never really work up a sweat Sad

Oh bloody hell @Quartz2208 😂 no wonder then 😂 I just had a quick 10 minutes spare in between sorting out the DCs so put that one on 😂 I'll have to read the description next time!

And maybe the comments they do also say it wasnt easy! And I have to say I have been exercising for awhile now and improved my fitness and I would find it tough

Yes @Quartz2208 I didn't have time to look at it before hand, just knew I wanted to fit some exercise in! I'll have a look at some tonight so I'm more prepared for tomorrow!
I managed to do it all, just felt a bit weak afterwards 😂

Yes, it really does get easier with time - and fitness builds quite quickly.

I used to be so unfit I'd get hot and sweaty walking up steep hills; and when I started c25k I even threw up after the first session. Now I run marathons for fun and would describe a 10k as a "short run"... even though it's not really that long since I couldn't run 1k, let alone 10!

Oh wow @fellrunner85 that's amazing! Well done!

I done one today (a beginners 15 minute workout) and it felt a lot easier, I don't know if that's because I took everyone's advice and done it before lunch and chose a better paced exercise or because my body is very slowly getting used to moving again!

Costco is this good for a beginner then? I need to get started with doing exercise but totally overthinking it, and not sure where to start!

It should never feel easy! If it does, we’ll it’ll be nice but it won’t necessarily get you where you want to get to.

Your extreme reaction means you’re probably going too fast, or you’re dehydrated, or you’re not working with your breath in a helpful way.

You will get to the point where you won’t feel nauseous but you should feel like it’s hard work and not easy!!!

You can also track progress by your speed of recovery. I did some Ski Erg intervals at the gym today - just 10 calories each time interspersed with short runs and lunges. Each burst I felt I was about to fall over but after about a minute rest gap I was fine.

Try doing an “Every minute on the minute” (EMOM) for 40 seconds each time. Or something like that.

Yes my lovely, this is how it begins Grin I too get red faced, sweaty, gasping for breath to start with! Assuming you don't feel like you're going to keel over, and are otherwise reasonably healthy, this is just what it feels like to start off. The great news is it improves really quickly and in a few weeks you will be averagely fit and can feel superior to those just starting off! Or help them which is a nice thing to do x

I run regularly - is but haven't been for a while. I'm always on /off with exercise but do really try every fortnight or so. When I went running yesterday some nice seeming builders shouted "You go girl" and laughed. An old lady earnestly told me at least I was trying. So what, people like other people that try. It does get easier and even if you're still not perfect you are doing such a good thing for your body x

It gets easier, certainly. But you need to be patient and perverse at it.

For me it has, but that means I push myself more because I’m capable of doing more.

I started out with a PT (and still have the sessions) as a complete beginner with no fitness. We did very basic things like body weight squats, lunges, incline walk on treadmill and very low step ups. We did this for 1-2 months to get balance and used to the movements, my knees were very painful and the treadmill was barely possible.

Seven months later and I’m doing deadlifts, hip thrusts, running, bench press with weights I’m proud of.

So, yes, it does get easier and it’s hard to start with. But it’s worth it for the increased fitness and strength to push yourself to always challenge what you can do.
