Leggings with phone pocket

I'm on the fat and just starting c25k threadđź‘‹ and would love some advice on what others wear to run in.

Last year I treated myself to one pair of Sweaty Betty Power leggings and I've really enjoyed wearing them now for c25k (they were great for pilates and lounging). The best bit: the side pocket, big enough for my phone so I can follow my program.

The worst bit: the price of these SB leggings! I can't justify spending ÂŁ75 on a second pair (or even ÂŁ63 by joining their mailing list)

Does anyone have other running leggings they would recommend that have a side pocket big enough for a phone, please?

Already had a look at Lululemon and the prices are barely any cheaper. Help out a skint newbie runner!

Some good ones on Amazon.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 07/01/2021 23:24

Sugar pocket on Amazon, about ÂŁ16 each. Very good.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 07/01/2021 23:25

I also had a special phone case for running that was rubberised texture so it didn't rise up and out my pocket when I ran. Not that my phone did, it was just something I worried about.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 07/01/2021 23:26

M&S has some, much cheaper!

I second Sugar Pocket on Amazon. I’ve got about ten pairs... full length or Capri. Deep pocket, nice wide waistband so don’t dig in, double layer so not see through. Really nice.

Just check carefully before you order as some of them don’t have pockets.

I got a promo email from Oliver Bonas today. They have a new Activewear range ... and the leggings are very like those in Sweaty Betty. Including pockets! I think they were about ÂŁ45 (not quite as bargainous as Amazon though).

WithASpider · 07/01/2021 23:27

Under armour ones have great phone pockets, you can get some bargains for certain colours on Amazon.

jackstini · 07/01/2021 23:35

Dd has the Amazon ones too - in grey and black

Only about ÂŁ16 - they fit really well and phone pocket is good size

TottiePlantagenet · 07/01/2021 23:39

Wow! You guys are quick!

Thanks for the suggestions and especially the brands & links. Keep 'em coming.

jackstini do you have a link to these bargainous sounding ones please?

Lucy Locket Loves are great. Middle ish for price and have a zip pocket on the back for your phone, which I prefer to the mesh type pockets, feels more secure and no rain on it etc.

Shahlalala · 07/01/2021 23:43

locketloves.com

Jazzy but there are some plain ones too.

ProfMcGonigle · 07/01/2021 23:48

Try Gymshark

bigpricklyfern · 07/01/2021 23:50

Decathlon have the best pockets, and so much cheaper than the ones you’ve seen.

I had a look on their website, but I couldn't find any with pockets 🤔

Thanks Shahlalala, those are jazzy! I get what you're saying about rain, but I'm strictly a fair weather runner at this stage Blush

Here is one example. I did get one of their cheaper pairs recently and they only had the back phone pocket, but my others all have a few.

I like Shein- I think I can get you a discount code if you are interested? X

minipie · 08/01/2021 00:13

I like the Iuga ones from amazon

minipie · 08/01/2021 00:14

that’s iuga not Luga

TottiePlantagenet · 08/01/2021 08:45

Thank you for all the suggestions, I will check them out today.

The Decathlon ones posted above are your best bet by a mile, when it comes to value for money. Decathlon stuff is good, and cheap compared to Ronhill, Inov8, Gore, Nike etc.

More "fashion" type brands like LucyLocket or those Sugarpocket ones might look nice but are nowhere near the quality.

Also, get a phone pocket on the back of your leggings rather than on the side. Or even better, buy a FlipBelt. Those side phone pockets might do during c25k, but when you get to doing more running you'll find having your phone on one leg is very, very, irritating indeed, and can really affect your form.

fizzysister · 08/01/2021 09:29

Those decathlon ones only go up to 14/16. Anyone know of anything similar in bigger sizes?

Dobbyhasnomaster · 08/01/2021 09:32

I like fabletics! Paying a monthly subscription isn’t ideal but if any of your friends have an account you can order through their account.

fastandthecurious · 08/01/2021 09:34

DH got me some from Tesco for Christmas with a pocket in.
