I hope it's ok starting a new thread. I found the last one so encouraging and didn't want it to stop!!

Also, have to share I've just done W6R3 - my first 25 min run. Wasn't sure I was going to make it to the end, but kept moving (as Jo Whiley told me to) and did it!!

How are others getting on?

Congratulations sexnotgender, fantastic work particularly finishing in early pregnancy!

Horehound · 09/08/2020 08:59

Well done @Sexnotgender! Did you run 5k? I am demoralised because I won't make 5k at the pace I run (7.5km/h) I'd need to run at 9 or something :( so it'll be more like 45mins for a 5k rather than their 35min

OceanPacific · 09/08/2020 08:59

Yay!! Well done @Sexnotgender! Very impressed. Don't stop now though - keep at it if you can.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 09/08/2020 09:13

Some awesome achievements here - I love checking in to see how everyone’s getting on.

Ds and I did week 8 run 3 on Thursday. We managed 5.2km in total (walk-in and running combined). I don’t have the tech to separate it to see how far we’re running, it was about 499m further than week 8 run 2 though so that’s good and I think it show’s we’re getting a bit more confident about what we’re capable of.

Things here are a bit manic at the moment so I’m hoping we’ll get out this evening for our first week 9 run 😬

StillDumDeDumming · 09/08/2020 09:13

@UnaOfStormhold I missed your message sorry! Thank you for your wishes. And your W9 run sounds fabulous. According to the calendar I shall be running by the sea on week 9!

Sexnotgender · 09/08/2020 09:20

Lord no @Horehound I didn’t run 5k😂 I took it easy as I’m struggling a little with early pregnancy so did 3.8k.

MirandaWest · 09/08/2020 09:22

Congratulations @Sexnotgender Smile

MirandaWest · 09/08/2020 09:25

Did week 8 run 1 yesterday. A bit later than my normal time before work so it was a bit warmer than I’d like. But it was all right. Will be away for a few days from tomorrow so not sure what I’ll do with running but I’ll run tomorrow before we go.

Sexnotgender · 09/08/2020 09:41

Thanks everyone 💕💕

PrincessWatermelon · 09/08/2020 10:59

Congratulations to @Sexnotgender for graduation and @UnaOfStormhold on 5k. Both terrific achievements, as is everyone getting out in this heat, frankly!!

I've given myself some time off. It's too hot in the day (I'm south east) and over the weekend I decided I needed some extra sleep, so haven't run since Thur and plan on waiting til Tues. Feels a bit naughty, but need the rest.

I’ve just done W7R3.

A gorgeous run along the River Coquet in Northumberland.

The first time I’ve ever gone for a run on holiday! In the past I’ve brought my trainers, but then thought, sod it.

This time, I couldn’t miss it. Does this mean I’m a real runner now? Grin

PoppySeedSaid · 09/08/2020 11:57

I did W1R2 this morning and felt like I needed to congratulate myself Grin

Waitingforgodot · 09/08/2020 12:39

Thanks @UnaOfStormhold and @CeciledeVolanges for your motivational words and links. W5r3 conpleted this morning and the 20 minutes didn't seem like a chore at all. I put my music on and that distracted me. Keep going everyone! You're all fab x

TeamEponine · 09/08/2020 13:07

Well done @Sexnotgender

I really need to go for a run today, but it’s 31 here now! Usually I like to run first thing, but I may try an evening run tonight!

Muchtoomuchtodo · 09/08/2020 22:57

@stargirl1701 - you’re officially a graduate! Llongyfarchiadau as we say in this kart of the world (congratulations 🎉)

Ds and I did week 9 run 1 today. Starve clocked it at 5.17kms - either today or our last run was wrong - we definitely ran further than last time! Anyway, I’m chuffed that we did it. Not sure when we’ll get the next one done with work and his plans getting in the way - probably Thursday now but we’ll get there eventually!

spence246 · 09/08/2020 23:28

Two weeks of illness has meant no running. Started back on w2r3 yesterday and only managed half before walking back to the car.
Well done to all those graduating and progressing

TeamEponine · 10/08/2020 07:01

Well, last night I managed 28 minutes in 28 degrees! It was tough and slow, but I did it. Can’t wait for this heat to break!

One more 28 min run, then I’m on to the final week!

notaflyingmonkey · 10/08/2020 08:57

W7R2 almost didn't happen this morning. Having decided my 'week' is Mon, Wed, Fri, I gave myself yesterday (Sun) off. This morning I lay in bed after the alarm had gone off thinking I'm too stiff, too tired, too old, too fat, it's too hot, etc, until I realised that this was the point at which I was likely to give up. So I gave myself a massive kick up the arse and got out there.

I have graduated from running in a fleece (covers my wobbly top half), to running in a sports jacket (does the same but is lighter), to wearing the jacket tied round my waist, to no jacket and an armband thing for my phone and door key.

The wobbly bits still wobble, but I care far less these days!

Wow!! That’s great going. I struggled at 20 degrees 😂
Needmybuttkickedintoshape · 10/08/2020 13:24

Well it was 30 degrees this morning when I went out but I managed w7r2. Only covered 2.78km /9.08 per km so ridiculously slow, but it was 25 minutes non stop. I did tell myself beforehand I would try and speed up at certain intervals but I just didn’t have it in me ,was glad I finished but miffed at the slowness. Well done to everyone who covers a decent distance...I am in awe of you 😃

EdwardCullensBiteOnTheSide · 10/08/2020 13:30

Hi everyone, I'm loving doing c25k, really feel so much healthier! I did week 5 run 1 this morning and had a sneaky peek at the rest of the weeks runs, the final run of this week is 20 mins?? Seems a huge jump! It will be interesting to see if it kills me!

MirandaWest · 10/08/2020 16:08

I did week 8 run 2 this morning. Felt all right although I didn’t like the last few minutes!

I did just over 5k including the warm up and cool down and about 4.2k in 28 minutes. We’re away for a few days now - have brought my things with me so will try and vet another run in this week

UnaOfStormhold · 11/08/2020 06:40

Too hot for running even yesterday evening - managed W9R2 but pace and comfort both suffered from the heat. Beautiful evening though! Think I'll hold off on my graduation run for an extra day and hope it gets cooler.

More Couch to 5k encouragement!
TeamEponine · 11/08/2020 08:57

@UnaOfStormhold Wow, what an amazing view!

I got up and out extra early today to try to avoid the heat, but it still felt like there was no air to breathe. Anyway, I did it. Slow, but week 8 is done. The extra two minutes feels like it may be a very long time in this heat.

Just working on my post c25k plan. Would people mind if I keep hanging out on here post graduation? It makes such a difference having this wonderful group!

I’ve been thinking about why c25k works for me, and I think it is the combination of having a big goal to aim for, but with little structured steps towards it. So, my big goal is to actually be able to run 5k! I’m not too far over 3k at 28 minutes, so I have a way to go. Think it might work to add one minute every other run. I’ll not worry too much about pace for now, just on extending the time I can run for until I hit the 5k goal. Does that sound achievable, or totally bonkers?!

I've just started running again after a week off. I've got a bit of an injury. It still hurts a bit but I'm just gonna monitor it and carry on steadily.

Man it's hot!! I really do not cope well with the heat! Did 6k this morning and 5k yesterday.

Going to Greece next week... not sure I will managed any runs in 33 degree sunshine??
