I hope it's ok starting a new thread. I found the last one so encouraging and didn't want it to stop!!

Also, have to share I've just done W6R3 - my first 25 min run. Wasn't sure I was going to make it to the end, but kept moving (as Jo Whiley told me to) and did it!!

How are others getting on?

I’ve had a few days break after camping. Gonna get back to it today.

MrsM36 · 10/07/2020 09:00

Woohoo Week 8 Run 1 done... I actually ran for 28mins & it wasn't as horrific as I thought it would be. Not sure I will quite be up to 5k in 30mins but I won't be far off... I reckon 5k in 35/36 mins will be doable for me & my short legs lol xx

UnaOfStormhold · 10/07/2020 10:44

J agree MsPants, the rate of progress is so impressive! Sure you'll be just fine for W5R3 :)

I did W4R2 yesterday, slightly hampered by getting stuck behind a man walking a dog along a narrow woodland path ahead of me .Not wanting to push past I took a side path that got a bit overgrown and I ended up having to scramble over a tree trunk to link back up to the path. Still, all done and I can't quite believe that I am halfway through the C25K!

30-40 mins is an average 5K time and for women age 30 or over, the average time is on 38 mins+*. So your estimated time sounds pretty good!

Week 9 run 3 done.

I've graduated!

And finally the weight is dropping off. 8 weeks, nothing. Since I started week 9 I've lost 4 pounds. I'm going to keep on using Strava until I'm actually running for the full 5k, then get the time down.

UnaOfStormhold · 10/07/2020 13:25

Congratulations Mysterian!

whenwillthemadnessend · 10/07/2020 13:31

Brilliant. That’s really encouraging well done

NCTDN · 10/07/2020 14:05

Well done @MysterianStar

Mysterian · 10/07/2020 14:13

Thank you. If I can do it despite being 7 pounds into the "obese" category, I'm sure you all can. Keep on running.

Stopthehop · 10/07/2020 14:41

Well done @mysterian.

Halfstonehomerun · 10/07/2020 18:42

Well done @Mysterian, I’m close to the end and hoping to start shifting some of the lockdown pounds that I have put on. I’m 7 pounds heavier than my BMI says I should be so I do really want to start losing weight but I am focusing on just finishing the programme for now! W8R2 here I come...

Muchtoomuchtodo · 10/07/2020 21:33

Congratulations @Mysterian.

Ds and I managed week 5 run 3 today 😀. It wasn’t as bad as either of us had expected. Unfortunately I forgot to start the storage so I don’t know what distance we covered.

I’ve gained 3/4 stone over lockdown despite doing more bootcamps than usual (in the garden via Zoom) so I have high hopes that my plodding pace will put me in the fat burning zone and I can get back to where I was at the end of March.

LambChopsMcGee · 10/07/2020 21:46

I missed a whole week this week after an emotionally difficult weekend. I'm going to try and do an extra W3 run at the weekend and then keep going into w4 next week. Hoping that won't be too tough after a week off.

I've felt the lack of exercise this week but I've been too depressed. Stupid really as I know it would help.

CeciledeVolanges · 10/07/2020 22:28

You didn’t miss anything, you’ve just paused. You will probably find it easier after some rest, honestly! And then you’ll feel better because you’ve done your run. Please don’t call yourself stupid, you’re great because you’ve dealt with a difficult thing and you’re still going.

nothernexposure · 11/07/2020 00:42

Hi there, can I join in? I'm on W7 R3 and really struggling. The jump from 20 to 25 mins feels really hard and I'm not enjoying it! I'm mid 50s, short and overweight so could do with getting fitter and losing a fair bit of weight. When does it start getting better or easier????

Sexnotgender · 11/07/2020 07:51

W6R3 done. I’m KNACKERED 😂

Slow start but got into it. Should have worn a vest though, so bloody hot.

That was fast Sex. 6 minutes 20 seconds per kilometre? I'm still around the 8 minutes mark!

I’m so proud of myself. I’m a horribly unfit 38 year old. I figured if I didn’t do something now I’d just get older and fatter and in 10 years time I’d kick myself.
NCTDN · 11/07/2020 08:18

Who's that's amazing!! I can't post my times on here.

GinnieHempstock · 11/07/2020 08:29

Hi, can I join? I recognise @Mysterian from another thread we are both on
I’m on week 3, due to do run 3 tomorrow.
I have done c25k several times - sometimes I’ve completed it, sometimes not. From what I remember it’s the week w5r3 which has been the killer for me when you suddenly have to run for 20 minutes. I’ve got that to look forward to. Grin

@thisenglishlife that link is encouraging. I’m 50, so the average is 41m20s. I reckon with a bit of practice, I can beat that.

Happy running everyone.

Stopthehop · 11/07/2020 08:30

Just done wk9 run 1. I can't believe I have two runs left before I graduate.

UnaOfStormhold · 11/07/2020 08:33

I was looking at this in threads I'm on and was slightly puzzled by the references to fast sex... Makes more sense now I look at
the thread and can see the bold formatting!

Maybe we can indulge in fast sex when we graduate - if we aren’t too knackered. Grin

😂😂 sorry.

I’m far too tired now for any sex.

JonHammIsMyJamm · 11/07/2020 11:34

It’s been a while since I popped on here and it’s been over a week since I last ran, so I was a bit worried about getting back on it today (I’m a graduate). However, I did my fastest and most comfortable 5k yet, so the short break must’ve done me some good.

Great to see that so many of you are still here and have almost finished and also that there are new faces joining all the time Smile
