Anyone up for some Fit February after Red January

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 01/02/2020 11:27

Determined to keep some momentum
Not sure I'll manage something every day but want to keep up my half marathon training and need to get back in the gym for some toning and strength work
Think I might use this thread a bit like the red January thread to keep me on track

I've taken my first rest day in 39 days. I am broken lol. I've put that onto my calendar too. Will allow myself one a week if needed...truth is if the weather wasn't as torrential as it was today I'd of gone for a walk but no full blown rest day...feeling lazy lol.

Am booked on for a boxing class tomorrow evening though!

KillingEvenings · 10/02/2020 10:23

Don't worry, CantstandmLMs you are not alone. I broke my 41 day running streak yesterday because of the weather. But God, I feel like a new person today! I'm having today off as well, because of life, but back to the grindstone tomorrow.

CantstandmLMs · 10/02/2020 14:22

@KillingEvenings by the end of yesterday I was so glad I took the day off. First morning I've not woken up in pain 🤣
I am looking forward to boxing tonight though. It's a new class for me!

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 10/02/2020 20:44

Another gym session done
Really didn't want to but feeling determined at the moment so hanging onto my motivation

KillingEvenings I'm a bit gutted that I missed a 'Garmin Day' on Saturday after 38 days. Still managed my steps but just couldn't fit in a walk/run that was worth recording.

CantstandmLMs · 10/02/2020 22:16

My boxing class was cancelled so I just had to do a made up gym session. Was a bit annoyed as I purposely avoid the gym at that time unless it's for a class and I could of done week 7 run 1 of C25k but alas, workout done!

Run tomorrow!

KillingEvenings · 11/02/2020 11:08

Two days off, but back on it this morning. Was quite enjoyable - legs felt a lot springier than they have recently.

BuddhaAtSea · 11/02/2020 21:16

7/24 I did circuits tonight and Pilates this morning. It was actually quite fun.
I’ve got body pump tomorrow, that’ll bring it up to 8, and it’ll be the 12th. So 17 days left to do 16 sessions, I can only afford one day off till the end of the month then.

CantstandmLMs · 11/02/2020 21:46

@BuddhaAtSea you've got this!

I did C25k week 7 Run 1 today and enjoyed it....mostly as I got new Adidas ultra boosts and they were very comfy!

I keep buying new kit but hey if it keeps me encouraged!

RubySlippers77 · 14/02/2020 10:16

Aarrggghhhh. I have completely lost my way with Fit February as I've been too full of snot... it's as much as I can do to move and breathe at the same time!!

Inspired by everyone's fitness posts though, hopefully will be better by the end of half term!

ShinyGiratina · 14/02/2020 23:18

I'm pretty much keeping up with the daily yoga. Now it's light around 7am, it's getting easier to get up and head down to the TV.

I would't say that I'm getting more flexible, but I'm feeling more mobile and less creaky.

Peak running now done ready for next weekend's HM, and I've got a well earned taper over half term Grin

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 15/02/2020 11:46

All gone a bit off your Boil here
Back to the gym later so trying to get back on track

BuddhaAtSea · 15/02/2020 14:58

My park run got cancelled 😢. I went to Pilates instead, and body pump.
I haven’t stopped exercising, they say it takes 30 days to form a habit, mine is definitely a habit now. So I’m on day 14/24.

CantstandmLMs · 15/02/2020 20:26

@BuddhaAtSea definitely a habit now. So greatful for what Red Jan has done for my focus and health. Like you, was planning on outdoor activity today and by 6pm was feeling very restless (lazy day wouldn't of been a problem before!) so my partner and I did our own workout in the living room...he's also a red Janner so felt the same way luckily. We did our own HIIT workout for the first half then did some combat tracks and body attack on demand. Burned 800 calories in the end (I wear a heart rate strap) and were absolutely on the floor in sweat but felt good lol.

...noticeable difference in my cardio, stamina and strength now and I'm so happy!

BuddhaAtSea · 15/02/2020 21:01

😂 I do a very physical job and the difference in my strength has been noticed by the boys at work, one of a sudden I’ve been lifting heavy stuff so easily!!!
Love it.
And yes, exercise is addictive. I don’t enjoy lazy days anymore. And it helps with my mood too:)

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 17/02/2020 17:11

Gym session done yesterday and today
Was hoping to get out and run but I am a wimp it has to be said.
Still plodding though and on leave this week so hopefully easier to fit stuff in

OP posts:
hobnobsaremyfavourite · 18/02/2020 18:01

And another gym session done
Not as good as yesterday but plodding on
I've lost track of where I am for February
Need to count back

riotlady · 18/02/2020 19:32

Thank you! Did Pilates today and can tell I’m gonna feel it in my abs tomorrow xD

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 18/02/2020 20:12

Have had a patchy month
And January was crap
Am going to set myself targets every month this year
To try and keep me on track

OP posts:
hobnobsaremyfavourite · 19/02/2020 12:37

Another gym session
Weather here still foul
I can see how this can become addictive definitely feeling better now
Won't be able to do as much next week when I'm back in work
Really clears my head though

BuddhaAtSea · 19/02/2020 20:37

I did a body pump class tonight. I was off on Monday so I did body pump, a 7k run and a stretch class.
Tomorrow I’m going for a run.
Every time I stop exercising I just eat!!!!

BuddhaAtSea · 19/02/2020 20:38
