Mummaluelae · 09/11/2018 08:48

I'm 5ft3" and currently weigh 10st 9lb
Down from 10st 13lb in about 5 weeks. My weight has always been up and down.
Reality finally hit me when my dp told me I'm putting on weight an my ds told me I have a big belly! Shock

I don't drink or eat take away food - maybe once a month if that tbh. I'm trying to eat healthier just can't resist chocolate!
I also do aerobics anywhere in between 35mins - 1 hour 30mins depending on how long dd naos for in afternoon. Also try to do some cardio for half hour or if feeling particularly less energetic 1 mile walk (20mins) every other morning

5 ft 4 or 5 and currently 10st 13, had DD 4 months ago and went up to over 13 stone.

For my wedding last year I was 9 stone 7 so would like to get back to that (size 10)

I’m in no rush though, I think I look okay and it’s winter so being a little heavier doesn’t bother me. I’m happy and would rather have a sugary tea with biscuits at the moment Smile

Perfectpeony · 09/11/2018 13:38

Forgot to say I am a size 12 now!

PrincessDando · 09/11/2018 13:45

5'4'' and I tend to go between 10.5 and 11.5 stone depending on whether I'm comfort eating and slobbing around, or dieting and exercising.

I wish I could diet and exercise all the time and stay at the lower weight but it never seems to work out like that, I'm a human yo yo!

tootiredtospeak · 09/11/2018 13:48

5"3 41 3 kids and a busy job. Ill take my 10 stone 11 I am still a 12 on a good day. As long as your doing excercise and healthy but if your not happy its a personal thing. I personally think as people get older they need a bit more weight. I have seen people in their 40's and 50's lose weight and go back to what they were in their twenties but then it ages them 10 years. Think healthy thats my motto eat well dont drink dont smoke takeaways in moderation and excercise when you can.

Chesneyhawkes1 · 09/11/2018 13:55

I'm 5ft 3.5" that extra half inch is important to me. I weigh 7 stone 8 lbs. I've got a tiny frame so weight doesn't sit well on me. When I was 8.5 stone I looked a lot bigger than people who weighed more. My arms and legs always stay slim and it just goes straight on my belly and hips.

Chesneyhawkes1 · 09/11/2018 13:57

Forgot to say I'm 40. I exercise a few times a week. Used to run lots, 60 plus miles a week in my 20/30's. Now I run a few times a week and do kettle bells

babbi · 09/11/2018 17:27

5ft 1 .... weigh 7stone 6 ...
I’m tiny ..... in my 50s ...., actually huge compared to my mother 😂😂

AuntieStella · 09/11/2018 19:25

My weightloss journey and increase of exercise (mainly running) is pretty well covered on old MN threads.

These days I have a BMI in the high 19.somethings, and have been that size for a couple of years now.

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 09/11/2018 19:28

I'm 5ft 7 and 9 stone 7 but am out of shape at this weight.
I have a small frame and do not carry extra weight well.

lanbro · 09/11/2018 19:29

I've honestly got no idea...I'm 5'5 and a size 10, I'm on my feet all day and run 3 times a week so don't particularly watch what I eat but can slim down pretty quickly if I cut out the large amounts of cheese and bread I eat! I judge on how my clothes fit rather than what I weigh

Sarcelle · 09/11/2018 20:33

5 foot 1.5 inches tall/10 stone 9.5 pounds.

I was 12 stone, 9.5 pounds but lost two stone. I aim to lose another stone and want that to be my forever weight. That is heavy compared to other posters on here but I like the way I look at my goal weight. As long as I am fit and energetic I am not that bothered by weight on scales.

Branleuse · 09/11/2018 20:34

im 5ft 6 and the last time i weighed myself i was 10st 8.
I feel a bit chubby lately and wouldnt mind getting down to under 10 stone

Kit10 · 09/11/2018 20:36

5'5 9 stone 4lb. I was 10 stone 13lb start of the year, I'd like to lose another 5lb but lost the motivation, maintaining ok though.

katiescarlett1939 · 09/11/2018 20:45

I recently read some stats on the BBC website where you put in your postcode to find out where people for your age are on the BMI scale. More than half of the people in my age group/demographic were overweight or obese. That doesn't seem to tally with the responses on here.

I'm 5ft 6 and 10st 1. Size 10 usually. Fit, but I'd like a few less pounds around my middle if I'm honest. My lowest weight after my first child (weird) was 8st 10. People said I was too thin and seemed worried. The NHS BMI calculator says I can be up to 11 stone and still be a healthy weight. So who knows what's best!

I do think it's easier to gain weight and not lose it again as you age, though.

Kit10 · 09/11/2018 21:02

Katie

I wouldn't have posted my weight if it hadn't of been for my weight loss so yeah I imagine replies are skewed!

AnotherPidgey · 10/11/2018 00:47

The exercise section will have a different bias to general chat/ AIBU.

I'm 5ft 2, 9st BMI 23. I feel it if I'm exceeding 9st 3. I'm a pear shape so store my weight in my leg muscles bum, and since having DCs, around the CS overhang. My bust is small which tends to make me look generally smaller (unless I've had a good meal and ping to the 4m pg look Hmm)

In my county, 66% of adults are overweight/ obese, although it is more localised than that.

lljkk · 11/11/2018 14:02

BBC 'how fat are you' compared to postcode.

I rarely know my weight but probably my BMI is just about 21. 38-29-38 maybe. Uk Avg for my age group is BMI = 28.4. In my part of UK only 54% of women are overweight+, which is much trimmer % than rUk. Who knew?

I was a chubby teen & had an eating disorder.

lljkk · 11/11/2018 14:11

I think BMI is pretty good guideline unless you're quite tall or short, elite athlete or quite unusual body geometry (like no leg or extra extra short legs).

It's very rare that anyone posts "BMI is so crap. I know because I look so much better at BMI=16-17. I'd look like a walrus at BMI=18.5. That's how meaningless BMI is." If they do post that, folk (rightly) pile on them about denial.

gunge · 20/11/2018 22:14

I just don't get these threads. Everyone seems so tiny.

I'm 5ft 4 and 10 stone 6lbs.

I'm a size 10 on top and 12 on bottom. I'm very fit as I do martial arts, have done several belts. I run and cycle every week and do weights/core exercises. I won a triathlon this year.

So I think I am pretty muscular which might explain why despite my fitness and slimish physique I'm so much heavier than most women my height on this thread!

WitsEnding · 20/11/2018 22:22

5'7 and 10stone, late 50s. I could lose a few pounds as my shape has changed since menopause, but I'm fairly fit. I find it easier to lose weight now I'm not feeding a family.

StarfishSandwich · 20/11/2018 22:30

I’m 5’5 and 10st 1lb. I had DS 11 weeks ago and I’m 2-3lbs over pre-pregnancy weight but I like to think it’s all milk!

I usually sit on the heavier side of normal as I build muscle really easily and am very athletic. At my normal pre-pregnancy size I would be anything from 9st 6lbs to 10st with a 23 inch waist and 20-21% body fat. Generally I think I look less heavy than I am - although maybe I have reverse body dysmorphia! 😂

WingingWonder · 20/11/2018 22:33

I recently was shocked to discover how much the creep had crept and I was 10.9 at 5’4 that isn’t good! I’ve always been about 9.10 so it’s a big difference. Last week I joined a new gym and signed a pt, I am time poor and having someone keep me in check will work... especially when paying for it. I actually care less about the look and more about the health. It will all be alcohol and a few to many ‘oh go on then’ to snacks at work 🙈 I’d like to be 9.5 stone by feb

Bishalisha · 20/11/2018 22:36

5’1 and 7.5 stone, I’m full of nervous energy which really affects my weight though

iIcouldsleepforaweek · 20/11/2018 22:36

5'5 and 9 stone

DeeStopia · 20/11/2018 22:45

These kinds of threads are always fascinating to me. I'm 5"11 and about 11st. Size 14. If I go to 10st8, I look ill.
BMI is a godsend to me really. I've suffered from EDs my entire life and I have a skewed perception of what's a normal weight (for instance, I now feel like I'm obese, although I'm slap bang in the middle of normal.) BMI gives me a really helpful reality check.
