Running leggings that stay up?

Do they exist? I have umpteen pairs of varying brands but all start to ride down when running. Ok, I do have a bit of a tummy so maybe this is the cause as wobbles when running Confused?

For me, they have to have a drawstring else they will fall down no matter my current weight! Ron Hills work for me

welshweasel · 03/01/2018 17:16

Yes deffo need a drawstring. I like Nike and dhb (wiggles own brand - cheap!)

SocksRock · 03/01/2018 17:17

You need a drawstring. I have to have one or they end up round my knees which is not a great look, or conducive to a PB!

Greenteandchives · 03/01/2018 17:18

I agree re the drawstring. I wouldn’t buy any without. I always come back to Nikes, even though I think they are expensive.

NineFortySixPM · 03/01/2018 17:20

Another vote for Nike drawstring but I’ve also a got pairs from M&S and next neither of which have drawstring but both of which stay put while running

Luckingfovely · 03/01/2018 17:24

Nike are the only ones that stay up every single time on me - and I reckon I've bought at least 40 pairs across different brands in the last ten years.

Nike. Nike. Nike.

Korez · 03/01/2018 17:24

Costco do a good pair with a drawstring

Tipsntoes · 03/01/2018 17:24

Also agree with the drawstring, having been caught out too many times, I now only buy running tights with a drawstring....and a pocket

Fintress · 03/01/2018 17:24

Another one that likes a drawstring. My biggest problem is finding full length winter leggings short enough as I’m not very tall. The only ones I have found so far that fit my short legs are Ronhill. Suggestions welcome!

Luckingfovely · 03/01/2018 17:25

Also to note - massively apple shaped and two sizes bigger round the middle than everywhere else. Nike still stay up.

SlickBubbles · 03/01/2018 17:25

Tikiboo. They're honestly the only ones that work with my belly. I never have to adjust them, as opposed to hoiking my Nike ones up constantly

Tipsntoes · 03/01/2018 17:26

FWIW, it is possible to add your own drawstring to most running tights by cutting a couple of small holes in the waistband and threading a cord through. It's not perfect but it's a decent fix if you have tights that would otherwise be useless.

Fintress · 03/01/2018 17:26

I have Under Armour cropped compression leggings and they stay up great, probably because they suck the life out of you Grin. No good for winter though.

KatharinaRosalie · 03/01/2018 17:27

Drawstring, but Lululemon ones stay up much better than Nike's

Fintress, what about 7/8 leggings, should be full length on you?

SallyOMalley · 03/01/2018 17:32

I like the running tights from mountain warehouse - they have a drawstring and a little zipped pocket just under the waistband at the back. You can always pick them up cheaply in the sale. Their yoga /Pilates kit is good too.

Fintress · 03/01/2018 17:36

@KatherinaRosalie, yes they would probably be ideal, I normally only wear long in the winter but apart from Ronhill I couldn’t find fleecy lined ones in other makes. Such a hassle when ordering online and they don’t give an inseam.

eurochick · 03/01/2018 17:40

Ronhill are fantastic.

RamblingFar · 03/01/2018 17:41

I add a drawstring to any that come without. It's not usually hard to do, if they've already got a hollow waistband. Two little snips, feed some pretty ribbon through and sew around the edge of each little hole to stop them from fraying.

M5tothesouthwest · 03/01/2018 18:01

Yep, Nikes are the only ones that stay up for me too.

M5tothesouthwest · 03/01/2018 18:02

Ooh that's a good idea rambling. Not sure why I've never thought of that!

stclair · 03/01/2018 19:47

Hooray! Thanks for the suggestions- drawstring it is. I have one pair with a drawstring but the knot is so tight I can't undo it to tighten it.

Chucking my twopence in for Decathlon's Run Dry + running tights, which have a drawstring and most importantly in my book have two pockets - a rear waistband little one the right size for keys and a side pocket on the right leg I can fit my iphone in. It's fab I wish more leggings had phone size pockets.

Fizzyknickers · 05/01/2018 15:29

Nike here too. Even tho they are £££! Hmm I think they are worth it. If I’m not running, I’m doing rebounder and they hold up well

trixymalixy · 05/01/2018 15:34

sweaty betty zero gravity are the only ones i have found that stay up on me.

cinnamongreyhound · 05/01/2018 17:19

I have a very old tribesport pair that are getting a bit saggy, a pair from H&M and tikiboo. All with drawstring and all capris.
