Would you all like to join me here?

Ooh yes the wind last night was a killer! I had to turn the volume up because I couldn't hear my music over the sound of the wind howling around my headphones Angry

CruCru · 17/01/2015 09:20

Hi OnlyBe! Nice to have you.

Did W7R1 yesterday, today is a rest day. It's hard work going for 25 minutes but I felt awesome afterwards.

TheOriginalWinkly · 17/01/2015 16:33

Only a week later than advertised, w1r1 is complete. It wasn't actually too bad, but my feet are definitely bigger than pre-pregnancy so I'm going to need some new trainers sharpish.

DisparateHouseMice · 17/01/2015 17:24

Wow CruCru ! Well done !

I am in awe of your 25 min run.

Finished W3 R3 today and am now dreading my first 5 min run.

Taking inspiration from you lovely ladies.

IKYTWTLYA · 17/01/2015 19:44

I'm just behind Disparate having done w3r2 yesterday. Also dreading 5 whole minutes!

Amazed at your 25mins Cru, I can't imagine that I'll be able to do it.

I've signed up for as 5k in May though, so hopefully I'll get close!

TheOriginalWinkly · 17/01/2015 19:45

Anyone with any experience of running after having SPD in pregnancy around to reassure me that, although it hurts after today's run, my pelvis isn't totally fucked?

PurpleSwift · 17/01/2015 20:19

So I was all set for W2R3 and I do my 5 minute warm up and then I speed up the treadmill to start my run and my treadmill starts sticking constantly making it impossible to run. I've only had it since a the 8th and only used it for c25k so I'm kind of gutted. Could it just be a lubrication problem? I've never had a treadmill before so I'm feeling pretty clueless!
I considered running outside but I live in a small village and it's pitch black and don't fancy going out alone tbh so I'm feeling pretty defeated!

PurpleSwift · 17/01/2015 20:21

Can you go to the doctors whiskey? I had SPD and literally couldn't walk towards the end of my PG but don't have any issues so far with running (only in w2R3 and gave birth july 13) maybe some physio could help?

CruCru · 18/01/2015 20:35

W7R2 done. Pretty tired now but it's a good feeling.

InsatiablyDubitable · 18/01/2015 20:49

W2R3 done.

Week 3 tomorrow. Bring it!

Iggi999 · 18/01/2015 21:18

W1R1 done today (second shot at C25K) and surprised at how good it felt, and now much easier it was than when I last did it 6 months ago.

CruCru · 18/01/2015 21:26

Ah well done everyone!

DisparateHouseMice · 19/01/2015 17:27

W4 R1 done !

Have to admit i ran the 5 mins slower than usual. Was really no problem.
Can't wait to get out again soon.

Good luck for this week ladies.

stilllearnin · 19/01/2015 17:48

Lagoonablue any improvement on the knees? I have been obsessively consulting with dr google (so now confused). Happily hoping it might be temporary. I have raging depression at the minute which I am struggling to keep at bay.

IKYTWTLYA · 19/01/2015 17:57

Well done Disparate. I'll make an effort to keep a steady pace - I've got that one tomorrow!

I entered a 5k on Friday. I have to do this now!

CruCru · 19/01/2015 20:24

Well done disparate!

cheapandcheerful · 19/01/2015 20:35

Harumph!
I did w3r1 this evening and am a bit surprised that I didn't manage to run any further than last week, despite the fact that I spent more of the time actually running. In fact, I even had to take a shortcut of about 200m in order to get home in time.
Has anyone else had this? Maybe I subconsciously ran slower, knowing that I would be running for longer and not wanting to burn-out?

ginny84 · 19/01/2015 20:39

Really impressed with the long runs! I did w2r2 on Sunday. It was cold and a bit wet but I managed it. I really enjoy going, hoping I still will will when I get on to the 3 min and then 5 min run stage. At the min I really can't imagine I'll be able to run nonstop for 25 mins.

cheapandcheerful · 19/01/2015 21:41

I'm with you ginny - can't see it happening!

Out of interest though, for those of you who are further on, at what point did you feel like you were really pushing your limits? I've been quite surprised so far at how manageable I've found it (did w3r1 today) but like ginny I can't imagine doing a 25min run EVER!
Am I likely to hit a wall at some point?

CruCru · 20/01/2015 13:55

W7R3 done.

If I'm honest, I hit a wall whenever Laura says Now you are halfway through and Now you are five minutes through. I think I expect her to tell me to walk at that point.

When I did it last time, I remember finding doing anything over 25 minutes really hard work.

OP posts:
CruCru · 20/01/2015 13:56

Re covering the same distance, it's sensible to run more slowly if you are going to be going further.

OP posts:
CruCru · 20/01/2015 18:42

I'm sure I ran a bit faster on the shorter runs - am quite plodding now if you know what I mean.

OP posts:
DisparateHouseMice · 20/01/2015 19:41

Only being on W4 I'm obvs no expert, but on my first 5 min run i ran significantly slower. 6 mins/km as opposed to 5mins/km in the previous weeks.

Feel like i cheated somewhat!

I don't know if that's the way to go.
I have been told by experienced runners that the pace to aim for is one at which you could comfortably hold a conversation whilst running.

Is that correct or am i doing it all wrong?

cheapandcheerful · 20/01/2015 20:08

I figure that if I at least manage to actually run when I'm supposed to be running then it's been a success, regardless of how I don't go!

cheapandcheerful · 20/01/2015 20:08

I mean regardless of how far I go...
