... And this goose ain't planning on being fat. Don't fall off the exercise wagon just because the nights are drawing in. Join us in our adoration - and autumnal exasperation - with Jillian Michaels and her many ass kicking exercise programs.

That's so annoying they have taken it off Vimeo. Planned rest day for me due to my 6am leaving home.

Yadah, you have gone a bit quiet, I hope you are OK.

yadahyadah · 08/10/2014 12:29

Hello all, I have been hobbling around suffering a period from hell. Dunno what is going on but I have changed from being a gal who never really noticed her period in terms of exercise etc, to having a really hard time of it emotionally and physically for the first four days at least. Really really withdrawn and tired and kind of wrung out by it. Am waiting to feel properly myself before throwing myself about again.

Yes the Vimeo link was removed a while back I fear. I am borrowing someone's at the mo and have stuck it on my pressie list. I think it's worth it compared to gym memberships etc. Having said that if I do not have it bestowed up on me, I will be ebay ing etc to get a cheaper version.

oh yadah you poor thing, sofa and chocolate. I am sure that your residual fitness now can cope with a few days off (just don't leave it six weeks like me).

They had it on one of those sites at £50 for a bit (wowcher or one of those). It is a bit painfully expensive otherwise.

Oh the money I have wasted on gym memberships though.

Sympathy, yadah. I have a Mirena these days and I'm one of the lucky people it really works for, so I barely have periods any more. But until I got it I used to have three days of hell every month.

Maybe I'll have a look at NMTZ this weekend. I've got Friday off work so can browse it while DS is at school.

ShowMe, 11lbs in 4 weeks is brilliant - well done. I actually think L3 is easier than L2, except the jumping lunges, so you'll be fine.

ErrolTheDragon · 08/10/2014 19:51

Sympathies to those suffering.... one of the upsides of being 53 is that all seems to be behind me (though I can't say I've noticed any meno symptoms...maybe JM and 5:2 are the cure for that!)

ImogenQuy · 09/10/2014 07:07

Killer Abs L2 D5 done. I gave in and went down to lighter weights for the hollow man / weights combination and more or less managed it with decent form. It really hurt though! And I can't wait till Saturday morning when I can just lie in bed till DS gets up - I was on the edge of going back to sleep this morning instead of getting up and exercising, even though I was in bed by ten last night. Does anyone else just want to hibernate at this time of year?

ErrolTheDragon · 09/10/2014 09:23

Imogen - def best to use different weights - some really do need much more or less than others to be effective and have good form.

I'm getting annoyed I still don't feel up to exercising - this is the first time since I started (well over a year ago) that I've had several days off. Can't just stay under the duvet either, have to get DD to the bus-stop. I've been letting DH (who is similarly afflicted) sleep in, I've just heard signs of life.

Tangoandcreditcards · 09/10/2014 11:42

Well I got up (mega) early on tues and weds and shredded before my 2 days in the office. I'm up to 2kg weights for all the L1 moves (to date I've been using a measly 1kg for some moves Blush).

Feeling good but my knees and lower back are complaining so I'm having a rest today. Experience tells me that pushing on through puts me out of action completely.

showme that's AMAZING. Though peepare yourself for this. Had this conversation several times over the last few days:

Casual Work Acquantaince: "oh hello tango, you look well, have you lost some weight"
Me: "oh yes a bit [over a stone actually but don't like to brag] bit of a way to go still"
CWA: "have you been working out?"
Me: "yes, I've been doing something called the 30day shred, it's awesome, Jillian Michael's changed my life, it's the best thing ever and it's only 20 mins and I did a press up and .... "
I pause for breath, CWA is backing away slowly from the starry eyed woman flexing her new biceps like a deranged loon ....

Lambzig · 09/10/2014 12:21

Tango, my husband thinks I have joined a religious cult, I am so evangelical about how motivating she is.

Body Rev, phase 1, week 4, workout 3 second and last time. Scared of moving to Phase 2.

Showme thats an amazing loss, mine is coming off soooo slowly.

Horrible time at work, I might get the push on Monday, but trying not to comfort eat.

ErrolTheDragon · 09/10/2014 12:29

sometimesyouwin · 09/10/2014 18:50

Everyone sounds like they're doing great. Show me, your weight loss is brilliant! I've always been evangelical about JM too, I raved about it at work and now have 3 other friends addicted.
Things are still on the down for me Sad, currently mid hideous food poisoning episode. Returning to exercise is seeming ever further away. Trying to breastfeed my 6mth old in between episodes of vomiting has been no fun. On the upside it's given me a head start on the weight loss! Got to find a positive somewhere!

ImogenQuy · 10/10/2014 07:07

Thanks, Lambzig. Everything crossed for you on Monday.

30DSL2D5 done. That's me done for this week - weekends are a JM-free zone. My weight is drifting down gradually doing intermittent fasting, even though on my non-fasting days I'm eating completely normally. I've lost 3 lbs in 3 weeks, which is not bad going, I think.

sometimes, sounds as though you're having a rubbish time - hope you feel better soon. You too Errol - will you be able to rest and recuperate a bit over the weekend?

Body Rev, Phase 1, Week 4, 4th workout last time. Just 1 cardio to go in this phase.

I haven't lost any weight really, but my jeans are all loose and most of my muffin top has gone. I think this is a more drastic change than other programmes.

I think they have wanted to get rid of me for a while, so I am trying to decide whether to resign or try to fight it. Think I might have had enough.

yadahyadah · 10/10/2014 11:12

Well done for keeping it up despite all the various kind of pressure, all. I am feeling a bit more like myself again after a week in the land of hormones, where everything sucks and nothing is good enough, especially me. Gah.

But I hope it return to JM on Monday and think I will just stick with the end of phase 2 until I manage to do it properly.

lambzig hang tough with all that shit going on at work. Remember you have already been broken in Ripped in 30 in order that you may never be broken again (still makes no sense, does it ?). Brew

errol join me on Monday and jump back on the wagon. You are like my guru on is thread Brew

I've been doing the insanity workout for two weeks now, should lead me nicely up to December where I'll cut back to 4 maybe 5 workouts a week, mainly bodyweight workouts and a bit of light weight work. That should mean I enter the New Year fairly trim (famous last words there!)

Lambzig · 10/10/2014 17:32

Yadah, Hmm, I think when she broke me in order for me never to be broken again, she forgot to add the caveat that if I lay on the coach and stopped for six weeks that she would have to break me again.

Lambzig · 12/10/2014 10:40

Reporting for yesterday, Body Rev Phase 1 completed! Yay!

Day off for me today as we have friends staying and I am not prancing around in front of them.

OublietteBravo · 12/10/2014 11:12

Found you! I've been away for so long that I bet no one even remembers I used to be here!

Just done 30DS L1D1 and it hurt - which is obviously deserved since I've only done about 2 sessions since mid-August!

ImogenQuy · 13/10/2014 06:50

Hi Oubliette! I remember you - good to see you back.

Killer Abs L2 D6 done here. Ouch. DS had me up in the night because his duvet had fallen off and I really wasn't in the mood for JM when the alarm went off. I've also got to be at work early and it's pouring with rain.

Thinking of you today, Lambzig Thanks.

I'm with you there Show Me!! I've got no immune system to speak of! I think that's where the relentless lack of sleep takes it toll. It's really frustrating! You're doing better than me. I need to give myself a few more days recovery before I get started again. Take it easy and hope you're feeling better soon Thanks

MaddestOfTheHatters · 13/10/2014 18:28

A little late to the party but mind if I join?
Completed 30DS over summer, now just mixing up L3 with NMTZ. Having some motivation issues though! Also can't quite seem to shift my excess hip/thigh so need a new challenge, any recommendations?
