Eminemmerdale - that sounds very sad.

Dementedma - sorry you had such a crap run. Maybe Sunday will be better. Try not to put too much pressure on yourself.

I did W2R3 this morning. It was as hard as it was on Monday so I have decided to repeat week 2 next week. And I had Mapmyrun going as I was listening to Laura and Mapmyrun started talking which through me and I stopped one run early. Only a few seconds really though.

TwasBrillig · 21/06/2013 17:26

Quite a few of us on wk 2 then. I'm planning on running later but just want to sleep!

I'm finding going slower than slow helpful. Somewhere I read its not about speed at this stage but building endurance so slow is good! I'm probably going little more than walking!

Bakingnovice · 21/06/2013 17:45

W2d2 done today. Much easier than run 1 and I still can't believe I am running for 90 secs at a time. I do it on the treadmill and am dreading the tm breaking down. I don't have the confidence to run in my area.

sarahandduck · 21/06/2013 18:16

Thanks gingerpinz....I am really pleased with my progress, particularly as I was nervous about a 25 min run. Looking forward to starting W7 on Sunday though...

gingerpinz · 21/06/2013 19:48

Were you quite fit anyway Sarahandduck?

You must already have started Week 7 though if you have already done 25 mins...

SneezySnatcher · 21/06/2013 21:12

Week one done! Wasn't at all breathless this time. Can't believe the difference between today and Monday!

Well done sarahandduck

TwasBrillig · 21/06/2013 21:16

Well done sneezy! I remember thinking that!

pennygallops · 21/06/2013 21:47

Wow! This is becoming a very busy little thread. It's great to see so many getting out there running.

Well, I've done a little cycling in the last few days and I'm going to test my knee a bit tomorrow - parkrun day! Grin I'm running with DD so I'll be doing the 5k in around 40mins. Really don't know what is going on with my knee.

Happy (park)running everyone!

sarahandduck · 21/06/2013 21:50

Thanks...I'm fit-ish. I do Kettlecise twice a week, boot camp and Pilates once a week., plus the running. No, my 25 mins was the last run of week 6.

TwasBrillig · 21/06/2013 21:53

Wow Sarah! That's tons! I'm impressed you can fit all that in :-)

gingerpinz · 21/06/2013 23:32

Ah ok, we must be doing slightly different programmes then. Great stuff anyway, well done!

BabySocksNeverStayOn · 22/06/2013 07:19

Completed W4 R3 yesterday morning...very tough, but took a slightly hillier route (I say Hillier, a minor incline for most of the way) and made such a difference. I think I'll stick to a flatter route for week 5.

I think I may have inspired my DH to have a go at this C25K. When I first started he was quite dismissive, but now he's been inspired by my determination to improve my fitness. He has such a sedentary job that apart from a few walks around the block does very little exercise.

I'm really starting to feel the effects from this extra fitness now too...I'm finding I'm having a lot more energy and my mood has definitely been far more positive. I find I'm looking forward to the next run, but also with a small amount of apprehension too! I'm also thinking about other exercise I can do on other days as the buzz it really quite addictive.

FoundAChopinLizt · 22/06/2013 07:56

Sarah

that is nearly 5k in 25 mins! ShockShock

You must be a natural..

Naebother · 22/06/2013 08:59

Ok I've got the running shoes. It's raining. All set to do my first run tonight. < nervous>

Naebother · 22/06/2013 09:01

Anyone else starting week one ?

Trazzletoes · 22/06/2013 09:15

Nae exciting! Sorry, I started last Saturday but honestly push through - you'll be amazed by what you can achieve.

Pollydon · 22/06/2013 09:35

Morning all! Bit soggy out there this morning, but w3r2 done. Also managed to startle a workman as I gallumped past him, gawd knows what I looked like, soaked through, beetroot faced Grin

showmethemummy · 22/06/2013 09:42

hello all, delurking for a bit to say i've finally got tofinish w6r3... took about 8weeks because illness interupted. i'm running really sloowwly but have decided it's the 'taking part'
that counts Grin

i find it's easier to run in rain than in warm weather...

well done us for making it here!

Pollydon · 22/06/2013 09:51

Hi Showme , I agree, we all deserve a pat on the back.

scarecrow22 · 22/06/2013 10:10

at last w1r1Smile Two weeks later than hoped but DS still 10 weeks so not beating myself up. Feel great. Also know I must go mornings - just too knackered by tu.e got a toddler and baby into bed.
Nae you and I are starting together it seems. Have you started or finished W1? Have you run before? Why you doing it?
Me: ran before preg with DD so c 3 years ago, not much between them. want to have energy to enjoy being active with DS, tone up and it helps me mentally - almost like meditation.

scarecrow22 · 22/06/2013 10:12

Active with both DC .(esp as in 40s when had kids)

showmethemummy · 22/06/2013 10:23

scarecrow, rather in awe of someone who runs 10 weeks after giving birth and has another already

amigababy · 22/06/2013 10:27

babysocks that's exactly it, looking forward to it but that bit of apprehension too, will it be ok, will I do it etc.

nearly end of week 3 here, the first not nice weather I've had in Yorkshire since I started

So I managed to do the parkrun, quite a bit of pain. Ran at DD's pace - 37.14mins for her and I was a bit slower. It is so frustrating being over 10mins slower than by PB but that's injuries for you. I was pleased with my DD today, she enjoyed herself, which is what it's all about. DS struggled a bit today too, but still finished in under 27mins.

Weren't you run director today cinnamon? How did it go?
