Building the Rejoin movement

A message from the rejoinregister.org

Some people you speak to ask what's the point of campaigning to rejoin. (A glance in your direction Mr O'B!) Well if we do nothing, they win. So what can we do meaningfully? Prepare to provide the overwhelming evidence that the country was only temporarily down in the gutter and has now come to its senses, that's what.

6 Million people signed Gangstagran's petition to revoke Article 50. If we can get those sort of numbers again we will be beginning to claw back some sanity.

Petition again? Yes if you like, petitions have their impact and there's one at petition.parliament.uk/petitions/600832 on rejoining. Gangstagran herself is back with one on Single Market and Customs Union: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/604892.

But we believe that the Register at rejoinregister.org has the strongest claim of all to be the place you campaign for and pass about your family friends and colleagues.

We have already enlisted Grassroots for Europe and The Federal Trust as "Registered Organisations" which will help promote the Register, and which will use the Register list to send out their messages, news, and calls for help.

This year we shall be appointing the first local campaigning groups to use the relevant data in their campaigning and to collect more signatures for us.

We will end up with the Register going viral at the time it's needed and it will be the decisive factor in persuading the government of the day to rejoin the EU.

Please get behind our efforts. Share and be active for the Register of like-minded people that can get us out of this hole. By the end of the day these will include plenty of leavers and plenty of folks for whom politics is a dead letter. It will be the entire nation: rejoinregister.org.

At the moment surely the argument that should be being made is for constructive engagement with Europe on issues of mutual concern in contrast to the government that just wants to pick a fight.

Long term the goal has to be Rejoin. There are many visions of how we will get there, and what we need to do in the meantime, but the movement has to be visible and to grow in visibility. Which is what the register is about.
