I'm not making a song and dance about it. I'm not falling out with anyone over it. I dont want to debate it. I'm just sad about it.

And that's ok.

Anyone else with me?

Cunts have already stopped anybody sensible from flying an England flag because of it's association with knob heads. Please don't let them hijack the union flag too.

TheMemoryLingers · 31/01/2020 12:37

Joining you in quiet sadness. I've said everything I could say on this subject - nothing more to do now.

I must admit I've got an old 'Remain' poster up in my window. Knobs on both sides it would seem Blush

seltaeb · 31/01/2020 12:45

Another sad person here. I'm hoping it won't be as bad as I fear it will be.

midwestfornow · 31/01/2020 12:54

If only all of you were quiet....

The problem with the Brexiteers not being mature enough to realize that a losers consent was needed is that this less likely to happen.
Given that this is just the end of the beginning I imagine that there will be plenty of conversations in a years time and onwards.

Oh I hadn't realised that free speech will be discouraged in post-Brexit Britain?

And if you were worried about your nationality application and the potential effects it could have on your family and income, you might find that you had quite a bit to say about it.

Funkycats · 31/01/2020 13:22

I'm sad. Quietly so, as well.

DontFeedTheAnimals · 31/01/2020 13:39

If only all of you were quiet....

Oh, fuck up and bask in your victory.

TheHoundsofLove · 31/01/2020 13:40

I live in Germany and feel as much European as I do British (probably more so) and just feel full of such sadness today.

HelloRoaring20s · 31/01/2020 13:44

I work for the EU. Such a sad day. We marked it together as Brits and saw the flag flying outside for the last time.

I Am so sad. Have had a lump in my throat all day. There were many years today.

Britain can leave Europe but never never never Europe leave the heart and mind of this Brit.
I will always be European.

PatienceThreadbare · 31/01/2020 13:44

Sad. Snivelling quietly in the loos at work intermittently. Trying to locate a grip.

PatienceThreadbare · 31/01/2020 13:49

Child said yesterday "When I'm older, I want to move to Italy", knowing we have some British friends there. I started to explain it wouldn't be as easy for him as it had been for them, but his disappointed face stopped me, and I prattled about working hard at school bringing opportunities.
Actually I think his face looked like that because my face looked like this Sad rather than the Italy thing.

Downton57 · 31/01/2020 14:05

Glad others feel the same. For so long, I thought this wouldn't actually happen and then Boris won the election and I realised it was over. I feel terribly sad and ashamed.

Same, except I'm at my desk.

MrsTerryPratchett · 31/01/2020 15:08

I had a good cry this morning and will break dry January a day early to raise a glass later. I keep thinking about my grandfather who fought up through Italy in WWII. It left him with an abiding and deep love of Italy and Italians. And my lovely grandmother and grandfather who got together in the war. Her Scottish and him Polish (bomber command). Talk about European Union Smile

All that love and compassion and hope for the future. On pause for now but not gone.

blamethecat · 31/01/2020 15:19

I'm sad, for the way 'we' are cutting our nose off to spite our face, for the uncertainty of what our future will hold, for the people who came here to build better lives, worked hard for it and to be reward with not knowing if the can continue to live in their homes, for so many other things and the loss of opportunity for my child. I wrote him a letter today about how not everybody wanted this and we can only hope things change by the time he reads it (He'll get it, with others when he's 18)

DioneTheDiabolist · 31/01/2020 15:45

The EU has been my friend, my home, my employer and way back when I was a child and the UK government didnt give a shit about me, the EU (or EEC back then) showed me that life could be different. Better, cleaner, nicer, less scary. It cared.Sad💔

Hazardhere · 31/01/2020 16:27

Yup....still sad.

Piccalino3 · 31/01/2020 16:29

I just watched the projection from Led By Donkeys on to the White Cliffs of Dover and had a little cry. It's all so sad. I really never thought it would come to this. Will raise a glass tonight and try to avoid the news for the foreseeable future. Hopefully we will rejoin in the future and hope it's really not as bad as is feared in the meantime.

user1471448556 · 31/01/2020 16:30

I'm gutted. Just feel really bloody miserable today. I will never feel the same way about being British again. Overnight our passports lose us opportunities - we are disadvantaged, trapped on Brexit island.

Hester54 · 31/01/2020 16:45

Please can you explain what you are actually sad about, I just don’t understand how you miss an governing body, we are and will always be Europeans
We don’t know for certain how it will turn out till the deals or no deals are done
