I'm not making a song and dance about it. I'm not falling out with anyone over it. I dont want to debate it. I'm just sad about it.

And that's ok.

Anyone else with me?

I’m sad too, just had a little cry over it. People everywhere seem to think it’s a party, I just don’t get it. Brexit and conservatives and bloody Boris Johnson. It’s just so sad, wish Labour were in power so people had hope

AlexaShutUp · 31/01/2020 23:46

I'm ashamed to call myself British now.

Me too. This is no longer the kind of country that I want to live in.

IamEarthymama · 31/01/2020 23:47

So sad, the last few years have eroded my belief in people's understanding of how society works.

I had a run in at the bus stop with a bloke who was crowing.
He said, well, no-one has ever explained all this to me after our conversation. Maybe I should have been going round randomly trying to counter all the nationalistic nonsense.

Imbolc tomorrow, First Awakenings, a celebration I love.
It will be tinged with sadness and a real fear for the future.
I am scared for the generations to come.

Love and Blessings to us all.

Oh Sossadtoday. Glad you found your place here. I too am in tears.😪

Sad and also very aware that as the economy tanks those who dragged us out of the EU will still blame Brussels for everything.

Sossadtoday · 31/01/2020 23:50

Dione sending love xxxx ❤️

TheGreatWave · 31/01/2020 23:55

I am now just wondering which will be the first large company to announce that they are 'reviewing their operations in the UK now that it has left the EU" and how far into February that will be.

StCharlotte · 31/01/2020 23:57

Watching the Last Leg on C4+1 and pretending I'm still in the EU and leaving at midnight

Me too!

Moomin8 · 31/01/2020 23:58

I'm very sad for many reasons. I don't feel that this is progressive for the UK at all. It's the opposite.

Moomin8 · 31/01/2020 23:59

I'm not ashamed to be British though. Let's not forget that so many of us voted remain. So many of us didn't want this.

DioneTheDiabolist · 01/02/2020 00:05

Have shifted from quietly sad to quietly defiant. I am still EU 🇪🇺.Smile

I've posted this before, but those who didn’t want Brexit are not an insignificant proportion of the UK population and we speak for the UK too. We need to focus on keeping our voice and being heard.

Borderterrierpuppy · 01/02/2020 00:07

Me too, horrible times.

Stabbitha · 01/02/2020 00:30

All my life I have been an EU Citizen. Now I'm not.

Yeah. I'm sad.

Deadsouls · 01/02/2020 00:40

I'm sad and angry.

I imagine that if remain had won the referendum and we had carried on as we were, a lot of those people celebrating tonight would not have given two hoots about us staying. They wouldn't have been campaigning or lobbying their MPs, or marching. They wouldn't give a shit, just as they didn't before this stupid referendum.

Okay rant over.

No feelings left. Just numb.

BubblesBuddy · 01/02/2020 00:43

There is no hope with Labour. As I recall “red” areas voted for Brexit and then voted for Boris. Labour was roundly rejected.

Sameday · 01/02/2020 00:46

You realise that’s pure supposition, Deadsouls? More Mystic Meg Remain Predictions.

ErrolTheDragon · 01/02/2020 00:47

I'm sad too.
Such a waste, and I don't just mean of money.

BubblesBuddy · 01/02/2020 00:48

Well people did give a shit before the referendum! The newspapers had piled on the lies and misrepresentation whipping up anti European feelings for years. Look up some of Boris’s pieces. Lies. Most of it. Look up what people like John Redwood and other Tories were saying about Major. This anti Eu rhetoric was being drummed up since Margaret Thatcher demanded our own money back. It’s been relentless.

Deadsouls · 01/02/2020 00:50

sameday

You will notice that I prefaced my sentence with 'I imagine...' which indicates that it is not a statement of fact or a prediction.

Sameday · 01/02/2020 00:52

I imagine I’ll see a flying unicorn tomorrow deadsouls.

Deadsouls · 01/02/2020 00:52

Bubblesbuddy

Yes some people did and some people didn't. As you see, I didn't say 'all' of those people celebrating.

Deadsouls · 01/02/2020 00:54

sameday

Ok..? If you say so

DioneTheDiabolist · 01/02/2020 00:54

If Remain had won, tonight would be just another Friday night with nothing more to see here than CFs and the usual stuff. Because nothing would have changed.
