First off, comrade Hilda has been busy in the propaganda dept! Praise be to Hilda! The dear leader will appreciate and reward your efforts with a cushy job in the newly opened Ministry of Bullshit. ✊🥀

Specials board.

⭐️ Snacks.

•Salty Bar nuts
(we always have too many)

•Marrow crisps,
I know you all hate them, but we had a glut and needed to do something with them. 🤷🏻‍♀️😬

⭐️ Mains.

A festive choice of...

•’Properly Stuffed’ “Christmas voting” Turkey.

•Festive Glazed Gammons.

•Goose that laid the Gilded socialist egg.

•’Whigs’ in blankets.

•Sauce for the Goose and Sauce for the Gander

•Brussels’ sprouts.
Divisive, yet still popular in some quarters...

•Neeps and tatties.
Grown in Corbyn’s Communist plot and kindly gifted back to us by the SNP.

⭐️Festive Drinks.

•Rebecca’s long Baileys.
Seems nice enough, but can be vicious if you have too much.

•Corbyn’s Victory Gin.
State sanctioned by big brother.

•Bag in, artisan Earl Grey Cocktail.
A Boris election special.

•Red flag Rum.
for the singing socialists among us.

•Egg nog.
Gifted by Trump. Sticks in your throat a bit, but it’s polite to drink it and pretend to half enjoy it anyway.

•The #ClassicDmitri.
Shaken and stirred. A Russian Vodka based Cocktail, shrouded in mystery and intrigue. No one really knows how it came to exist, but all we know is, that it might have happened. Somewhere. And now it’s on the menu. Enjoy!

⭐️Desserts.

•Imported Panettone.
Get it fast, I’m reliably informed we will never ever have it again post Brexit.

•Traditional Christmas pudding.
have a good look for that old fashioned sixpence inside, we might need it when all the money runs out.

•Damson jam steamed pudding.
I’m told by the suppliers, that It’s like the infamous Mumsnet chicken, we can get eleventy billion servings from it and still have more for the freezer.

As always, welcome to all who pass through this place, but, as ever please observe the sign above the bar. If you can’t read it. It says...

DON’T BE A TWAT.

Dusty01 it's absolutely your right to change your mind regarding Brexit, but please stop trying to antagonize people here who have a different view point to you.
You obviously didn't consider your views on the "NHS, state schools and degradation" when you cast your "protest" vote, so why you're continuing this stick-poking at leavers is beyond me.

MichaelFabricantsHair · 08/12/2019 00:14

What do you think the Tories will do for the likes of us? dunno, you're asking a fully paid up member of the Labour party, who has only ever voted Labour. But I'm not doing so this time; not sure how I'll vote tbh.

DustyDiamond · 08/12/2019 00:14

I agree you one of a rare breed of remainers that seem to have accepted Brexit. But it is a rare breed.

I think in the general population there's a lot like Bellini to be fair, just as there's a lot of leavers who are not gung ho about no deal & prefer some semblance of a pragmatic solution.

It's MPs who have utterly fucked me off with their doublespeak re respecting & implementing the result

I've zero respect for them.

It doesn't say on the video that it's Ben Elton, does it? I haven't seen him around for years - so wasn't sure that it was him. Why are you so angry?

🙄

Google is your friend in such trying times

Reading here earlier, it was clear to me that the people that post on this thread are either unaware, or just don't care, about the things this man (Ben Elton) talks about on his video. That's why I wanted to post it here - to make people aware. Perhaps you all live in leafy suburbs, never use the NHS, don't use state schools, just never come across all this degradation. Perhaps it's that none of you are aware, rather than you don't care.

🙄

You 👀 this thread constantly - you've posted here before & made comment about us elsewhere.

If you bothered to actually read what people post you'd have seen we're a disparate bunch who happen to coalesce around a common purpose (much like the other thread).

The lazy & reductive stereotypes you've used above are beyond tedious

Get some new material - mix things up a bit - at least try to be original

MichaelFabricantsHair · 08/12/2019 00:17

Oh and I'm an NHS worker to boot, yet I still voted Leave...I don't subscribe to the narrative that Remainers are "good" 😇 and that Leavers are "bad" 😈 It's far more complex than that.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 08/12/2019 00:21

It’s quite simple for me.

In a heirarchy of wanky political parties, I’ve gone Tory. That’s it. I don’t need to explain it, or justify myself. The best part of that Dusty01, is that I’m not asking you to either.

🙌🙌

Precisely

The constant demands for justification are boring as fuck

People vote different ways, for different things, for different parties, for different reasons, at different times

That's democracy!

🤷🏻‍♀️

DustyDiamond · 08/12/2019 00:25

And democracy is a wonderful thing

God help us all if Corbyn & McDonnell's socialist dystopia comes to pass

Dusty01 · 08/12/2019 00:26

There seems to be one rule for people visiting here and another for BA posters visiting elsewhere ...

When I voted Leave I was not voting against the NHS etc. I was lied to and thought it was in the best interests of the country. It was also what I thought was an anti-establishment vote - because I felt voiceless and frustrated with Austerity.

I now realise that I was infact supporting the Tories/ERG etc by voting to Leave. And yes - I do feel furious about that.

But we have a chance to change the state that our country is in. It doesn't have to be this way. Voting for more of the same - is going to make things worse because Johnson, Gove, Rees- Mogg, the whole lot of them will crash us out with no deal, spend years wasting more money on negotiations, neglect the country more, re-create Austerity under a new name and slowly erode our rights. We are already (under Johnson) on our way to becoming an autocracy.

How do?

No rules here other than 'don't be a twat'

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 08/12/2019 00:28

“God help us all if Corbyn & McDonnell's socialist dystopia comes to pass”

🙌🙌🙌🙌

Democracy will only be truly appreciated once it has gone sadly. And the risk of that happening under hard ‘momentum style’ socialist ideology, is not at all insignificant, when you look at past belief structures and historical comments by the main players.

Who knew time travel was a thing now?!

Every day's a school day etc...

We are already (under Johnson) on our way to becoming an autocracy.

Utter bollocks 🙄

The constant demands for justification are boring as fuck especially when they come from someone who has "changed their mind"; some of us haven't and living in a democratic society , that's ok too, surely? Smile

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 08/12/2019 00:30

“Utter bollocks 🙄”

Seconded.

I haven't been a regular poster on Mumsnet for years, but I'm free to voice my opinion as and when I see fit. As are you, just don't complain when your hypocrisy is pointed out. S'no biggie in the grand scheme of things Smile

Walkingdeadfangirl · 08/12/2019 00:36

Is their a flashers flash mob in the pub tonight, or is it just one person screaming very loudly?

Dusty01 · 08/12/2019 00:36

No rules here other than 'don't be a twat'

Who is being a twat?

Is it not possible or allowed to have discussions, to disagree ...

Or are you saying that this is an echo chamber?

MichaelFabricantsHair · 08/12/2019 00:38

On that note 😂

Brexit Arms Festive Special. Will the Grinch steal christmas? Could it be ‘Christmas with the Kranks?’ Or will we end up with a ‘Blue’ Christmas after all?...🤷🏻‍♀️🎄
DustyDiamond · 08/12/2019 00:39

Who is being a twat?

Nobody said anyone was being a twat Confused

You brought up 'rulez for posting in here' - I merely pointed out that there is only one rule on this thread

I presumed you were asking a 'genuine question' re the rulez 🤷🏻‍♀️

DustyDiamond · 08/12/2019 00:41

Is it not possible or allowed to have discussions, to disagree ...

Obvs it is 🙄

But if people disagree then they will obvs say so

I'm unsure of what you are asking of us to be honest...

Or are you saying that this is an echo chamber?

Confused no, why?

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 08/12/2019 00:41

“Is it not possible or allowed to have discussions, to disagree ...”

You haven’t exactly appeared carrying a 🕊 and a cheery hello for the regulars have you?

What you HAVE done, is burst in, telling us we are wrong, because YOU Have had some spiritual awakening over brexit, shaming the tory voters amongst us, and trying to forcefully persuade us of your new and ‘better’ path with videos and links of people you can’t even name.

I mean, on a patronising scale of 0-10, where do you honestly think you fall?

OP posts:
EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 08/12/2019 00:42

Sounds like you're being goady tbh, without grounds, I might add Smile

DustyDiamond · 08/12/2019 00:43

lol Michael 😂

I mean, on a patronising scale of 0-10, where do you honestly think you fall?

That's a poser Epic 🤔
