I thought we might appreciate a separate thread for organising meet ups and info :)

I am short of time at the moment, so support in gathering info and linking people together is very much appreciated.

It looks like Parliament (according to a Laura K tweet) will be having a special meeting on that day, even though it's a Saturday, so all the more reason to come along and let them know that we reject the situation and that we especially reject a No Deal Brexit.

@thecatfromjapan
I'm marching with the Left Bloc. I don't know if you've seen any details but we're meeting at Stanhope Gate.

NotJustACigar · 19/10/2019 06:27

Any advice from Londoners on logistics, please? I have a lunch break from 1-2:30 and I want to march. I'll be taking the tube from Gloucester road to Green park on the way there however I understand Green park will be for exits and interchanges only so I can't go back that way. Any advice please on how to get back to Gloucester road quickly? Thank you.

lonelyplanetmum · 19/10/2019 06:50

Any advice please on how to get back to Gloucester road quickly?

If you're ok walking just do a loop swell the crowd for a bit and then walk back to Knightsbridge? Or St James's park ?

FlyingFlamingo · 19/10/2019 07:16

We are on our way!

Dd1 not impressed at the early start but hoping she’ll cheer up Grin

CrepuscularCritter · 19/10/2019 07:24

Thanks for all the hints and tips, especiallyabout phone signal and the Tube. DH and I just getting ready to leave to drive to the coach pickup. Feeling strangely emotional right now, which is not really me. Here's to a peaceful day, and good luck to us all.

1066vegan · 19/10/2019 07:50

I'm on the train right now. It was raining as I walked to the station (which it seems to have done pretty much nonstop for about a week) and we're going past some extremely waterlogged fields.

Can't wait to get to London and see the sun.

nothingwittyhere · 19/10/2019 07:57

Up at 5 and now on the train from Leeds - one so old the doors don't open automatically and you can't flush in stations. I want progress away from those times, not back towards them with Brexit.

Oh, and the deleted message must have been the world's most illiterate bot, an identical post from the same time was deleted from a Style and Beauty thread I just looked at (with zero to do with Brexit).

OhYouBadBadKitten · 19/10/2019 08:02

Is that what that said? The hazards of friday nights....
Anyway, I had ridiculous dreams about the protest last night and all I can say is thank goodness we don't live in my dreamland!

The weather forecast is looking super for today :)

Is the protest to try and push Boris' proposal then if it's against No Deal?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 19/10/2019 08:14

It's a People's Vote march.

I dreamt about the march last night too 😄

Twitter is making me cry this morning - lots of photos of people on coaches heading for London. I’m only coming from zone 6, makes me feel a bit unworthy!

I’d love to think that what we’re all doing today will make a difference but I still feel incredibly fearful of what’s to come. At least today I’ll be with hundreds of thousands of like-minded people.

Dontlickthetrolley · 19/10/2019 08:19

Thank you to everyone who is marching today, I will be with you in spirit and watching the events of Parliament unfold on TV, wearing my Bollocks to Brexit sticker that I still have from the March March!

1066vegan · 19/10/2019 08:22

Huge numbers marched against the invasion of Iraq and were ignored. Huge numbers are going to march today and we might get ignored again. But at least we will have made our voices heard, will have tried our best and will have the small consolation of knowing that we were on the right side of history.

OffTheShelfElf · 19/10/2019 08:28

Weather forecast looking dry now. See you and your toothbrushes at the march in a few hours' time!

Notstrongandstable · 19/10/2019 08:30

Absolutely 1066 Vegan!
Doesn't matter if you're ignored, you still have to stand up for what you believe in
Good luck today everyone!

ListeningQuietly · 19/10/2019 08:52

Just about to head to the station
those of us old enough to remember life before the single market
need to fight for the rights of the young

For everyone with us in spirit

Peridot1 · 19/10/2019 09:12

Well done all you marchers. I wanted to come but have been ill and didn’t know how I’d be so didn’t book a coach seat.

Would have been going on my own. All my friends appear to be adopting an ostrich approach to it all.

TheOliphantintheRoom · 19/10/2019 09:39

Flowers to all those marching today.

Experian · 19/10/2019 09:44

See you all there! Incredibly emotional to think of people travelling from all over, what wonderful marching weather! 🇪🇺

Jason118 · 19/10/2019 09:49

Hold your ground! Hold your ground!
People of Great Britain, of Northern Ireland, my brothers and sisters,
I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me.
A day may come when the courage of people fails,
when we forsake our friends
and break all bonds of fellowship,
but it is not this day.
An hour of wolves and shattered shields,
when the age of EU membership comes crashing down,
but it is not this day!
This day we fight!!
By all that you hold dear on this good Earth,
I bid you stand, People of Great Britain and Northern Ireland !!!

Still waiting for a family member who flew home last night, to resurface, so that we can go to London... A flight delay of two hours didn't help.

NationMcKinley · 19/10/2019 09:59

I’m coming! I got a last minute reprieve from work today. Hurrah!

Andonandonan · 19/10/2019 10:12

We are on our way, just about to get on the train. Have seen a couple of coaches on our way up as well. See you all there!
