I thought we might appreciate a separate thread for organising meet ups and info :)

I am short of time at the moment, so support in gathering info and linking people together is very much appreciated.

It looks like Parliament (according to a Laura K tweet) will be having a special meeting on that day, even though it's a Saturday, so all the more reason to come along and let them know that we reject the situation and that we especially reject a No Deal Brexit.

In my social circle, over 100 are going to be there
not a hope of all meeting up
but we are too angry to not go

we HAVE to stop No Deal
I do not care about a second vote
I know that any deal can be tweaked later
but No Deal would destroy the country

and they have to hear us through the walls on Saturday
the more the merry / angrier

PancakeAndKeith · 17/10/2019 21:12

This is from the Financial Times about possible voting intentions.

Eek, that looks worryingly close.

PancakeAndKeith · 17/10/2019 21:38

Doesn’t it. They are voting on Saturday!

colouringinpro · 17/10/2019 22:43

I REALLY hope its well attended.

My friends aren't coming, but they didnt come to the others. i really do struggle with the ?apathy. Do they not want an NHS????

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/10/2019 07:41

I just think that there are a lot of people who think that marches aren't something that they could do. dh is one of those. I don't argue with him because he's very supportive and it's actually rather handy that one of us holds the fort at home. It takes all sorts of people and all sorts of action to support a movement.

Don't be downhearted - tomorrow you'll be with hundreds of thousands (maybe more?) of people all saying that this Brexit WA is something that would be terrible for all of us.

Millions I hope!

I still maintain the last one was nearer two million than one.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/10/2019 10:06

I hope millions too :)

so my packing list for tomorrow:

lightweight rain jacket (might get some showers)
something warm to pull on in case I stay really late.
packed lunch that can eat one handed.
snacks
sweets to share.
hand gel
water bottle
reusuable cup.
spare battery and cable for phone.
rail tickets!!!!

Sweets/treats to share is a good way of talking to people and making friends if you are on your own! I realised this when someone offered flapjacks at an earlier demo.

PancakeAndKeith · 18/10/2019 16:46

DH is ill so we can’t go.

I’ve contacted the coach organisers to see if anyone else can use the tickets.

ListeningQuietly · 18/10/2019 17:33

I have my red tooth brush (and a couple of extras for those who cannot come)

SingingBabooshkaBadly · 18/10/2019 18:11

Having been on the last two I didn’t think I’d be able to leave DH for this one (Parkinson’s) but we’ve come to stay with my in-laws in Surrey so he’s not on his own whole I’m out. I’ll be coming into Waterloo but need to be back in Surrey quite early. I’m worried about getting stuck in crowds and not making it back in time so I’m thinking about walking from Waterloo to Parliament Square and up Whitehall to join the march near the front and then dashing back to Waterloo before most people start dispersing.

Anyone foresee any problems with that?

SingingBabooshkaBadly · 18/10/2019 18:12

While I’m out not whole...

ListeningQuietly · 18/10/2019 18:45

Babooshka
TBH that is pretty much my plan too.
If you see a mad old lady with 7 red toothbrushes on her lapel, tap me on the shoulder and we can walk together Grin

SingingBabooshkaBadly · 18/10/2019 18:55

Thanks listening. I do hope I see you - I’ll be on my own so would love the company. I couldn’t find a red toothbrush 🙁. What time are you aiming to be there?

BramblyHedge · 18/10/2019 19:04

If you are on the Chiltern line then there is bus replacement tomorrow...I'm getting a lift to Amersham to get the tube.

Notstrongandstable · 18/10/2019 19:28

Does anyone know what the earliest time we expect the March to arrive in Parliament Square?
Coming with 2 dc from Brighton, they're not that keen!
Last time we came out at Green Park but it was hectic and they were bored. We made it to St James Park and then left.
Just wondering if we could hook up with the March towards PS, but early if that makes sense..although obviously want us to be counted

ListeningQuietly · 18/10/2019 20:24

With the HOC sitting from 9.30 I think Central London is going to be quite surreal from quite early.

TheElementsSong · 18/10/2019 22:38

Just popping in to thank everyone who is marching tomorrow 🇪🇺

Andonandonan · 18/10/2019 22:53

@Notstrongandstable we’re going to do the accessible route this time & hopefully that means we can join in with the whole thing as last time we didn’t get much past the start before dc had enough! I emailed the pv people to check it was ok for ‘just’ having dc with us & they said absolutely, totally up to us to decide which route to do.

Think it’s a guaranteed way of being able to join main march at a later point as I wonder if the route might be more strictly managed this time in case atmosphere isn’t as calm as at earlier events.

thecatfromjapan · 18/10/2019 23:04

I'm going too.
Might try to march with Left Bloc (suspect we're going to be crying).

Xxx to everyone going.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 19/10/2019 00:50

travel safely today all.
I'll be on and off mn as I'm going up with others. I might hang around after the march for a while, so I'll look out for others doing so, in case anyone wants a drink.

forecast is looking good. A bit cold at either end of the day, but sunny, dry and relatively warm for the bulk of it.
