Brexit

Next week is too early for a VONC!

It’s strikes me as piss poor political tactics, and I hope it fails....

Much as I want BJ gone, if he’s forced out next week by a VONC, it will only strengthen him in a forthcoming GE....

He’ll be able to appeal both to those who want a deal (he’d claim “if only they’d have let me go to Brussels I’d have got they real and we’d have left!”).. and those with no-deal. He won’t have to own any of the crap he’s been peddling the past few months.

He needs to be able to hang himself from his own petard and either have to eat his various words about getting a deal before 31st October, or show he’s prepared to stoop to new depths to circumvent the law to prevent him from signing an extension.... If a VONC and a GNU is required, it needs to be done once he’s come back from Brussels without an agreement to a deal or extension.

In fact, I imagine the SNP realises this, and that their calls for a VONC now are electioneering to demonstrate how they are the ones leading the charge to get rid of BJ.... and they’ll then enjoy wielding that stick against all those who didn’t join them, claiming their weak or compromised. Don’t be fooled into thinking they’re the honorable ones here.

I suppose whether the key might be whether anyone can say they have they can form a government for the purpose of seeking and extension and possibly organising referendum before any general election.

Symptomless · 29/09/2019 16:39

Agree, this is not the time to do it.

MockersthefeMANist · 29/09/2019 16:41

The expelled Tories and defected ex-Labour MPs are not going to make Corbyn PM.

Just the usual SNP grandstanding in their silly yellow lanyards.

That may need to come, but it’s 3 weeks premature... It would be a gift to BJ to bring him down now!

Hossie of the SNP said yesterday, they would VONC even if BJ came back with a deal!! How daft is that!
Just confirms that they are only interested in no Brexit not no deal Brexit.

And why wouldn't they be? Scotland voted remain, remember. No Brexit is what Scotland wants.

You think Scotland should do as it's told with regards this referendum?!

Why doesn't that surprise me coming from you?

Where are you even based? Clearly not the U.K.

MysteryTripAgain · 30/09/2019 06:44

UK is a single member of EU as opposed to four separate members. UK as a single member voted to leave EU. The result applies to all four member states of the UK collectively.

Scotland can vote for independence if they wish. Then apply to join EU. Job done.
