Labour voters, will it be LIB DEMs for you this time?

I’ve always voted labour, and I believe in moderate centre left policies, but certainly can’t vote labour if we have an election. Would love it if there was a labour/lib dem/ green pact, but if not it will have to be Lib Dem. anyone else?

I’m not voting for Corbyn despite being a labour voter. He’s been a weak opposition. I actually have no idea if Labour are leave or remain. Their carefully worded literature says they will not back a Tory leave. Doesn’t say they’ll remain. It suggests blocking the Tories leave is a political manoeuvre to grab power. Then we’ll have a Labour leave. If they were remain they would have said long ago.

Labour have booted out loads of their more moderate members in favour of hard left. To be honest I’m more scared of labour being in power at the moment than of Boris.

Who am I voting for? I have no idea but it won’t be labour.

Apileofballyhoo · 15/09/2019 14:17

Labour have said they will negotiate a practical realistic deal and hold a referendum on accepting that deal or remain. I think that's fair.

Reversiblesequinsforadults · 15/09/2019 14:32

Tigerty, what are you scared of with a labour government?

PerkingFaintly · 15/09/2019 14:52

Nope. I'm a floating voter so will vote tactically in my constituency, mainly over Brexit but with an eye on austerity, privatisation of the NHS and other issues.

Can tell you now I won't be voting Brexit Party though.Grin

It would have to be exceptional circumstances, like a very particular candidate, before I voted Tory... Hasn't happened yet and I've been voting for a fair few decades...

bellinisurge · 15/09/2019 14:58

More scared of No Deal Brexit than Corbyn government and swore I would never vote Labour again with Corbyn as leader. It depends on how big a threat Brexshit Party are in my constituency. I might vote Labour to protect us from a fate worse than Corbyn.

Lifebi · 15/09/2019 15:02

Will vote tactically to stop Brexit, don't care who it is.

PictureWall · 15/09/2019 17:54

Now the Lib Dems have said their policy is revoke rather than second referendum I will vote for them. I want my vote to be counted as a true and clear anti Brexit vote. This may be unwise in my Lab/Cons marginal seat but I will be damned if my vote is said to represent anything other than “stop this nightmare now”.

Wiltshirelass2019 · 15/09/2019 17:55

They’re both a pile of shit unfortunately. No one worth voting for at all

joystir59 · 15/09/2019 18:01

Vote to get the Tories out, vote Labour

Wiltshirelass2019 · 15/09/2019 18:02

Out of the frying pan into the fire.....

joystir59 · 15/09/2019 18:03

You want your head testing if you think Labour pose more of a threat to the well-being of this country than the Tories

Wiltshirelass2019 · 15/09/2019 18:06

Let me guess, your dad voted labour, as did your mum and all of your family 😂 labour voters are all the same. They hate ‘the Tories’ and can’t begin to contemplate thinking independently from their families 😂

Wiltshirelass2019 · 15/09/2019 18:06

I wouldn’t vote conservative either though 😂

Nat6999 · 15/09/2019 18:21

I will be voting Labour, my area is a Labour safe seat, my MP works hard for the community she serves. Jeremy Corbyn speaks a lot of sense, he is trying to close the gap between leave & remain supporters, I don't trust either the Tories or Lib dems, they may as well be all one party.

This, almost word for word!

NoWordForFluffy · 15/09/2019 18:55

I'm a Lib Dem member, but will vote for whoever (either LD or Labour) has the most chance of ousting our ERG Tory (in a remain constituency). We swung from LD last time, but Labour came second. So we shall see.

berlinbabylon · 16/09/2019 14:13

I vote Libdem anyway but live in one of the safest Tory seats in the country so my vote is completely useless. Even though Remain narrowly won here, there are enough privileged affluent older ladies (and men) in the rural areas of the constituency who voted Leave and will vote for anything with a blue rosette.

It's those of you in marginal seats who can make a real difference.

Kaddm · 16/09/2019 14:20

I’ll make the best possible use of my vote.

Toilet paper.

pourmeanotherglass · 18/09/2019 17:47

Good question. I think it's fairly irrelevant who I vote for, as my constituency has been Labour since 1935 and is unlikely to change. Last election, I think the Tories were in second place and then the Lib dems and greens on about 3% each. I would vote Lib Dem if I were in a constituency where they stood a chance.

GoodJobSteve · 18/09/2019 17:52

Normally a LD voter, but I'll be voting Labour this time, given my constituency. A conservative majority in the next election would be a catastrophe, I think.

polkadotpixie · 18/09/2019 18:05

I've always voted Labour. I live in a safe Tory seat but will vote tactically this time for whoever has the best chance of ousting my arsehole of an MP (not likely though as he had a majority of over 20,000 🙄)

thecatfromjapan · 18/09/2019 18:11

Tactical voting to keep the No Deal Tories out.

rosie39forever · 18/09/2019 18:16

I will vote labour as or candidate seems really strong and has a good chance of unseating our current hypocrite Tory mp Nicky Morgan. I couldn't bring myself to vote LibDem as the enabled the Cameron government to push thousands of people into poverty and completely vilified and punished sick and disabled people through benefit cuts and austerity.

fromthefloorboardsup · 18/09/2019 18:29

I'll vote Labour, I'm an ardent Remainer but I think Corbyn's got a sensible approach to Brexit to try and heal the divisions in the country and I like a lot of Labour's other policies. Not a fan of Swinson's voting record.

thecatfromjapan · 18/09/2019 18:53

I posted too soon and without my brain engaged.

Should read:

I think we should all be voting tactically to get No Deal Tories out.

It's easy for me to say - I have a good MP - for others, it's harder, or not clear what the best alternative is.

But, honestly people, the stakes in the coming GE could not be higher. ☹️
