Any more Leave supporters on MN?

I've not been on here for a while.

I'm seeing only anti Brexit threads on here.

Any Leave voters out there?

What do we have to look forward to when we Brexit?

OP posts:
bellinisurge · 20/08/2019 14:09

@MysteryTripAgain you said that the WA has been rejected by Parliament and so I explained that the NI only backstop hadn't been put before Parliament. I also understand the EU would accept this fairly quickly.

MysteryTripAgain · 20/08/2019 14:30

Seems to be that three groups will object to an NI only backstop, DUP, ERG and those who want a No Deal departure from the EU.

Confusedbeetle · 20/08/2019 14:34

@SingingLily
Thank you, a voice of reason

Confusedbeetle · 20/08/2019 14:35

MN is the nest of anti Brexit. Not representative of the population. Deluded to think Leavers regret their vote

LochJessMonster · 20/08/2019 14:38

I voted leave. And now I would rather leave no deal than remain.

Op your title was deliberately misleading. This thread has been done a thousand times before and always end with insults. Bore off.

bellinisurge · 20/08/2019 14:56

Perhaps some of our posters who relish the opportunity to whine about how mean everyone is in MN would like to contribute something useful: do you accept Brexit with a border in the sea/NI only backstop?

CrunchyCarrot · 20/08/2019 15:12

@ConfusedBeetle I am a Leave voter who now absolutely regrets that vote. I wish I'd had more information, if I had, I would have voted Remain. Some of us have changed our minds! I have yet to hear any solid good reasons for leaving the EU that aren't simply Unicorns dreamt up by Farage and Johnson.

Bearbehind · 20/08/2019 15:14

So you thought you’d end your post with an insult 🤔

LochJessMonster · 20/08/2019 15:37

Bearbehind If 'bore off' is an insult you have lived a sheltered life.

Fifs50 · 20/08/2019 15:41

I have to concur on this point. I hear stories from my native UK on the stress of correct binning of garden waste, plastic, cardboard, glass, compost and an ever increasing period between bin collections. In Andalusia where I live there is no onus to separate waste and the large rubbish containers where we empty our household bins are emtpied every night. Now whilst I think there should be more emphasis on recycling and compost I don´t see how the UK can blame the EU for the rigidness of it´s rubbish collection process and schedule if Spain can get away with doing whatever it likes. I genuinely think a lot of issues some Leavers have with the EU are due to poor UK management by a series of quite pathetic tossers we call ministers and prime ministers.

SingingLily · 20/08/2019 15:51

Thank you, @Confusedbeetle.

I haven't bothered to read the rest of the thread though as the title is so clearly misleading. Pity. If it had not been so duplicitous, we might have seen a useful^^ and sensible exchange of views.

I do note, however, that OP "voted to Remain without fully understanding why we should or what the EU was or did".

Rather like Dominic Grieve, Keir Starmer, Anna Soubry, Philip Hammond, David Gauke, Nick Boles et al - all voted to approve Article 50 without - it now appears - fully understanding that it started a two year clock at the end of which the UK would leave, whether there was a deal or not.

I knew what I was voting for. I would vote Leave again, every time. 11pm 31 October 2019. Independence Day. Bring it on.

OP, please don't @ me any more. Not interested in your little game. I only came back to thank Confusedbeetle for a courteous message.

Clavinova · 20/08/2019 15:51

I only have 5 mins - as I suspected though;

"July 2018 The European Commission is taking Spain to the European Court of Justice (ECJ) after repeated calls to establish appropriate waste management plans went unanswered."

"Spain was due to establish necessary waste management plans to cover the country by 12 December 2010, and subsequently evaluate and revise the plans every six years, but has failed to do so.The European Commission has also made clear that once any plans or revisions were implemented, the Commission should have been informed."

"This case is similar to those of Romania and Greece, both of which did not follow EU laws regarding waste disposal. As with Spain, both had received repeated notifications before being referred to court."

Brabinger · 20/08/2019 15:56

"If it had not been so duplicitous, we might have seen a useful^^ and sensible exchange of views"...thought so. Leavers always manage to find some reason for being unable to articulate what they are looking forward to. Funny, that!
I quite enjoy lurking on the MN brexit threads but am completely baffled by what Clavinova is attempting to achieve with the constant googling, cutting and pasting.

Obvious to me - took me 30 seconds to respond to Fifs50's nonsense above.

jasjas1973 · 20/08/2019 16:06

@SingingLily

Well, we could have a useful exchange of views but you went away and never came back with any other EU laws that have been imposed on the UK other than the tapon vat issue, which is now resolved... whilst IN the EU.

bellinisurge · 20/08/2019 16:07

Again, would any of our Leave voters support a Brexit with a border in the Irish Sea and an NI only backstop?

Still waiting to hear. Because it's a doable solution.

Brabinger · 20/08/2019 16:07

Oh - you see yourself as some sort of Ministry of Truth. How funny. Would it be rude to point out that you've posted quite a bit of nonsense yourself over the months?

ContinuityError · 20/08/2019 16:08

MN is the nest of anti Brexit. Not representative of the population.

75% of the UK population did not vote Leave.

Clavinova · 20/08/2019 16:12

I have already answered 'yes' on a previous thread, although the Labour Party have said they will not agree to any Tory Brexit.

Brabinger
Which name-changer are you?

bellinisurge · 20/08/2019 16:13

@Clavinova , it's not all about you Grin

Clavinova · 20/08/2019 16:19

bellinisurge
You said any Leave voters.

You forgot to mention the European holiday you went on a few months ago - I remember you signing off for it. Where have you booked for half-term? "Two Jags Bellini" Grin

bellinisurge · 20/08/2019 16:23

I love the idea that holiday = wealth. You aren't the only Leaver to try that stunt.

Unlike you, I don't live in the south east with the financial capacity to send my children to private school and shop in Waitrose and farm shops.

I'm pleased you have given your opinion on the NI backstop so freely and, indeed, agree with me. I'm waiting for other Leavers to do so rather than whine about how we are all meanies.

bellinisurge · 20/08/2019 16:25

I'll be in Ireland with family on half term. As I was in Crete.
I know it shocks people like @Clavinova that some people have relatives in furrin.

MysteryTripAgain · 20/08/2019 16:34

Because it's a doable solution

But is it DUPable?

Fifs50 · 20/08/2019 16:34

@Clavinova you really were asleep when sunbeams were given out to all children at birth. You have not refuted anything I wrote about Spain doing its own thing. Rather you have shown how ineffectual the EU is that it is spending years taking its members to court over non/compliance and still they keep disobeying.
